What People are saying

OK but little more.

Reuben Don 07/10/2016 16:41

Room a little basic in facilities and a distance from reception but we did get the twin beds and walk-in shower that we'd requested.

This is more like a motel than a hotel but it is very well located for other facilities.

Excellent evening, fun, and worth sering

I wasn't sure what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised by the entertainment, the decor, and the food.
There is no wasted space inside, and the tables are as close together as possible without having people actually sitting on each other, but once you are esconsed at your table, you don't feel too cramped.
The food choice was limited, but good quality, and the vegetarians in the group found it reasonable.
The show is spectacular, funny, and keeps you entertained throughout.
If you don't like the idea of bare breasted women then it won't be your thing, but the costumes were fantastic, and worth seeing for that alone.
Overall a great night out and well worth going to see.

Honeymoon visit

So one of the few things we wanted to do on our honeymoon stop in Paris was to see the wold famous Moulin Rouge. The show itself was phenomenal, however, taking a star off as we got in line plenty early (maybe 15 people from the front) and it seemed to do nothing as far as a better seat. We got a decent table, but we were told nowhere that we'd be at a table with other people. I get the necessity of it, but was a little upset that after doing everything right we still got a less than amazing experience for everything that's said about this show. The performers, costumes...all of that was incredible, and talent the likes of which I've never seen amazed my wife and I for the approximately 2 hour show.

Great show! Highlight was the circus acts

Ashstenon 31/08/2015 10:40

Great show! We had a group of 10 and booked a few moths in advance. This worked in our favour as we had a long table right at the very front we could touch the stage! A positive as we had the best view in the house a negative as we could see every missing gem of the costumes.

The show was quite pricey and not sure if I would pay that again but the fact that our seats were so good definetly helped. You could purchase the same tickets (which include the champagne) and not nessescarily get as good of a seat; we booked in advance for a large group. The price of our tickets included a bottle of champagne between 4, (maybe 2) from memory it was 2 glasses each?! It felt like we had a fair amount of champagne each!!

The show included some circus type acts which had us sitting on the edge of our seats oooo and ahhhing! This was the highlight of the show for sure. The costumes were bright and fun, some we thought were slightly old and dated but this did obviously not affect our experience.

We had booked for the 11pm show and thought we were running late so we rushed our dinner before hand only to arrive and see a line so long it turned a corner around the block. This seemed bizarre to us as we had tickets and allocated seats and some people in the line didn't. We would have waited online for at least half an hour which was a dossapointment at the time. We had to show printed tickets at the door which was slightly annoying as well, we didn't realise this so had to run around looking for a internet/printing place just before the show opposed to just showing the tickets on our phone.

Apart from the ticket and line issue the show itself was great, rather pricey but our whole group had a great night!

An excellent hotel from which to explore the area

Le Moulin Rouge is a reasonably priced hotel with comfortable but not luxurious rooms, a reasonable restaurant and, above all, staff who take an interest in their guests. On both occasions when we have stayed there we have been impressed by the friendliness of the staff. It is excellently located for visits to cities such as Sarlat and Brive itself and is close to the motorway for access.
