Some drawbacks in terms of service
Michael Gon 10/08/2017 14:22Hotel premises are quiet ok for a stay, breakfast is also all right but cannot compete with other 4-stars hotels.
Due to a change of my schedule I informed the hotel in advance that I will only stay the second night out of two of the reservation. As this information was not followed the hotel staff canceled the complete reservation. I was only lucky that there was one last room available.

It was ok for one night, and the free ticket for public transport is great. But the room was too dark and stuffy for a stay longer than a day.

Spartan, But Good Choice
Talaga_LAon 19/05/2017 14:02Spent 4 nights here on a business trip in May 2017. It was my 1st time to Darmstadt, so I can't compare it to other hotels. I was booked in a "superior" room on the 5th floor with several pros & cons:
Pros:
- Location - right next to the train station
- Clean - meticulously clean (this is a BIG plus from my perspective)
- Modern - appears to be new or recently updated
- Bfast - nice selection/options (+ was included in the " superior" room rate)
- Quiet - overlooking train tracks, but couldn't hear trains (or room next door) - very good sound-proofing - another big plus in my book
- Check-in - early check-in (1pm) wasn't an issue
Cons:
- Spartan - tight quarters, small/inexpensive furnishings
- Soap - only liquid soap available - I know it is common in Europe, but I hate liquid soap in the shower. Had to buy a bar of soap in the train station grocery store.
- Windows - 5th floor had nice set of French doors which were locked & would only crack/tilt at the top. Why bother w/ nice French doors instead of windows if you're going to limit opening them?
- Towels - thin (but large) + only 1 set & no washcloth (only bath & hand towel) + did I mention there was only 1 set? Oh & if I didn't mention it, there was only 1 set ($&@;!@)
- Bathroom design - no towel rack or hooks near the shower (nowhere to put towel w/in easy reach when exiting the shower)
Overall, it was a nice stay & I would stay here again, but would likely try the Maritim next time (where my company normally books).
Great Location
Smirkinon 28/03/2017 03:08This hotel sits 2 minutes from the train station. We walked out of the station and the hotel sat on the other side of the parking lot. Very convenient for those traveling with luggage. The other advantage this site brings is all the bus connections you can access from the train station. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. We could not hear the trains in our room. The front staff was friendly and more than helpful when requesting to leave our luggage after our checkout.
