I stayed here while in town for a conference. I was happy with the stay overall. Despite the hotel being built so long ago, it had modern amenities and was in good condition. The size of the room was a surprise for such an old hotel. I thought it was quite spacious. It was clean and comfortable. My only complaints are that the tv channel selections were awful (what hotel doesn't even have HLN????) and the restaurant was outrageously priced. But overall, I had a good stay.

I stayed here for business. The Hotel is very "tied". Requires renovation. Water pressure in the bath in not allowing to clean your hear. Breakfast is not gererous. Internet is 14 $ per day.
We had a conference, it was extrodinary cold in the meeting room and technicians can't do anything. Conference menu was very American - sandwiches; chipes, pretzhelns, nuts, Coca-Cola ... no meat. Very unhealthy food.
The only definite plus is hotel's location - close to everything, however note that it is located on the Hill. Really hard to return back as you need to climb.
There are many other WW hotels of famous chains located close - worth looking into something else

This is a fantastic old historic Hotel. In may areas like dining room service is top quality and attentive, however bar and reception staff can be unhelpful and dismissive. Requests not followed up over subsequent days, requested safety evacuation information, and despite asking for follow up no manager r safety evacuation details were provided

Hotel is not 4 Stars, book elsewhere, rooms are dirty, hotel needs a major face-lift, was not impressed. Mold in the grout, in the shower, dirt and dust bunny's everywhere. You do get scrambled eggs and bacon at breakfast for $80, your money is better spent elsewhere.

Spent a couple of days in this very nice, posh, mature hotel. Felt pampered and comfortable in older but elegant rooms. Staff was very courteous, and location on nob hill was great. The gym was also nice. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars was the rather thin walls. Conversations next door were easily hear and door slams in the hall were heard during the day. But did not affect our sleep and we enjoyed our stay.
