What People are saying

Friendly high class hotel in the country-side

Soonjin Pon 11/06/2017 15:07

Had a brief business trip to PyeongChang and stayed here. The hotel is very nice inside and out with a pleasant atmosphere. I only ate breakfast but the spread was nice and the staff friendly. Very quiet but close to the site of the 2018 Olympics.

Business Trip

A great hotel, which was very quiet due to it being out of the ski season. Staff are first class and the service is really good. There's a decent gym in the hotel but unfortunately I did not have time to use the spa services.
A good range of food at breakfast to cater for most tastes. My only criticism is that some of the in room furniture has seen better days. However rooms are clean and housekeeping is excellent.

Scary!

The hotel itself was very nice with great decor in both the public areas and the rooms. And the room itself was large with a balcony.

The breakfast was good, featuring an egg station and fresh fruit.

What shocked me was someone coming into my room in the morning to check the minibar for use. This had not happened duriing my 40 previous days in Asian hotels. When the guy rang the doorbell to the room, I tried to answer the phone, because it sounded like a phone. Then I heard a loud noise that reminded me of an evacuation siren. If would not have been quite so bad to have a man enter my room (I am a solo female traveler) had I not been in the process of drying my shirt from cleaning a breakfast faux pas. My shirt was hanging on the chair, so I was very upset and scared when a man entered my room. He left quickly when I told him to get out. When the hotel desk heard about this, they apologized a bit, but said it was standard operating procedure. They really need to get a better procedure.

i liked this property.

visited here for summer holiday last year(2016). cause elevation of this place is higher than other part of Korea, so temp is rather low even in summer period.

stayed in junior suite which was located on 2nd floor. its balcony was pretty big so i enjoyed pretty much. there was capsule type coffee machine in room so i could have some. dvd player set in room and you can rent a dvd at lobby free of charge.
you can expect intercontinental standard in room, so i would like to say no hesitation for staying here once.(but of course it is a little bit different compare to intercontinental seoul, which is different type of hotel). the only con of my room was flushing of toilet was somewhat not enough.(you will know what i am saying)

parking free(sheltered and ground)
Wifi free(not sure if eligibile to only IHG member or whole guests)

price of restaurant is pretty reasonable, and if you walk to holiday inn zone(2min walk from intercontinental) there are bunch of meal selection . so no worries.

overall, my stay was nice, and i hope my thought would help your accomodation decision.

cheers.

Up to Intercontinental standards

Was greeted as a platinum member while visiting with my family for a redemption stay for 2 nights.

The facilities and ambience was good, and lack of noisy guests in the lobby made it super sweet.

I was given a simple upgrade to the pond facing room, and was told that they have not operated their 7th floor club lounge for a long time, hence no club lounge floor.
(Perks definitely lacking at ihg compared to the pampering I get at hilton as a gold member)

In any case, the only complaint I had were the guests they put us with next door who were extremely noisy at night and the lobby bakery had some really stale looking tiramisu so couldn't buy a cake at the hotel to celebrate my daughter's birthday.

Still, I would visit again, but probably after the winter Olympics.
