Best as a Conference and Wedding Venue

My wife and I stayed here on a leaf peeping trip to New England. Though the Inn is promoted as an Inn for group events, we thought we would try it. It was a big miss. The hotel itself has beautiful grounds, it is well maintained, and has a nice list of amenities, but the group focus has consequences for single travelers. First, it is very noisy. The wedding reception noise does end at 10pm as promised, but the proximity of the party tent to the main building makes it very loud for the couple in the hours before 10. I downloaded a decibel meter and it registered 80db in my room (not sure how accurate that is). Unfortunately the noise did not stop after the reception. The main building seems to have poor noise insulation. We could hear everything going on in the rooms above us — from walking around the room to the typical post wedding couples activity. This was true the night of the wedding as well as the night after. Beyond the noise, the staff working when we arrived seemed to have little knowledge of local activities. I asked about wine trail activities (something promoted by CT tourist bureau) and could not get any help. Thank goodness for google. It is not a bad hotel at all. It is probably great for group events, but if I visited again, I would look at a local B&B.

Where do I begin? I think it started with the initial phone call... when we shopping around for a nice "out of the way" place to stay - with a lake - we came across the Interlaken Inn. From the very first phone call, the customer service was very friendly and top notch. We ended up booking the place for a long weekend, and we couldn't have been happier. The rooms were clean. The location was quiet. The pool was nice. Tennis courts, lakes, trails, and waterfalls... oh my! Farm fresh food, beautiful scenery, even the local townspeople were inviting. If we weren't city folk at heart, we'd probably move out there!

What else can I say? Interlaken Inn was a great getaway in a scenic environment. Our sincerest thanks to Kevin Burskett, who went the extra step to ensure we had a wonderful stay.

The helpful and friendly staff made a great weekend better

I stayed at the Interlaken Inn from October 14-15, 2017. I had come to the area for a wedding, and stayed at the Inn. I have some difficulty walking and the staff was incredibly helpful to me. They put a bench in the shower stall at my request, and when I needed the golf cart to get from the cottage where I was staying to the main house, Mike showed up with said cart like magic! Diane of the housekeeping staff frequently but not intrusively asked if I needed anything. The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating to my needs and requests.

The property is a lovely country inn. My room was clean, spacious quiet, and comfortable.

The wedding breakfast was served on the downstairs terrace facing the lovely garden, and the food was good.

The property is a stone's throw from the Hotchkiss School, as the signs welcoming the Hotchkiss parents staying there for parents' weekend can attest.

The property is set in the spectacular, historic, and scenic Berkshires, a place to be explored on many a weekend. You would not go wrong staying here.

10th anniversary

We chose the inn for our tenth wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. It was lovely and filled with wonderful staff. Holly the manager, John the chef/wait staff, and Jennie the bartender were friendly, helpful, and made this a memorable occasion. Highly recommend.

Bucolic charm

A friendly country inn. The setting is wonderfully remote within walking distance of a scenic lake. The Sunnyside rooms are a bit dated and if you are looking to use the room to do any work, you'll be disappointed. One rocking chair, no desk, only a night stand.
