What People are saying

Disappointed

meeshyon 05/08/2017 19:23

The carpark is down a steep slope so if you have problems walking or have young kids it can be difficult to walk up and down. There is a handrail but it didnt look safe. The reception area and the corridors are dated and tired. We upgraded to a standard family room so the room was large. The decor was similar to the corridors tired and outdated but what disturbed me the most was the stains that looked like blood on the net curtains and the side of the bed. There was also holes in the wall and mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. The side of the shower tray was cracked and the tiles were mouldy in the shower. There was a sign downstairs saying the hotel was being refurbished but there was no mention of this on the website for the hotel or booking.com. There was also no mention of no lift going to the family rooms on floor three which again prevents a problem with kids and bags or those who cant walk far. We stayed in anotger hotel the next night cheaper which was spotless and modern so i think for what we paid it was expensive. We will never go back.

For the price you could still complain, the mattresses are awful

Firstly the good points

En suite room for 3 at £59 on a Saturday
Nice part of town
Free wi-fi (not tested it yet)
TV Coffee Tea facilities
Iron and trouser press

Bad points

The Mattresses so uncomfortable rated 1/10
The decor reminds me of 1992 I doubt it has been decorated since

The room has a smoke smell

If out are desperate stay here - if you can find a Premier Inn room for £80 or less stay there instead.

Good

For the price you pay you can't really complain. Everything is very basic but the staff are very attentive and friendly. Showers are not powerful at all and room was slightly dirty but apart from that it was an ok stay for £35.

Basic

The hotel fulfilled its promise to give us a bed and breakfast. Like many good value or cheaper hotels you have tolerate sub-standard plumbing. Breakfast was an experience as the waitress appeared to be suffering from the night before and was in melt down. We were told we could order any items for our breakfast so we did. It turned up as a standard breakfast of moderate quality. It has a car park at the rear, down a steep hill, would be lethal in the winter.

weekend stay

We arrived at the international hotel and stood outside wondering if we should go in. The hotel looked very uncared for and dirty from the outside. Once we realised we could not cancel our booking we went in. The welcome was very good when we check in and staff very friendly. We were on the second floor at the back of the hotel, we went up and down corridors and stairs to try and find our room, in the end a maid showed us where to go. we had upgraded to a family room which was very large. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was very good, the young girl was very jolly and polite, although very busy and could have done with a bit more help. However, the full english was cooked to order and very nice. There was also, cereal, yoghurt, toast juice etc. The hotel is being modernised but needs a lot of work to get it up to date.
