What People are saying

A lovely family run hotel!

Lauren Bon 30/08/2017 15:16

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for a week at the beginning of August and we had a lovely relaxing time. The hotel is basic but has everything you need! The family who run the hotel (2 Brothers, mum and dad) make the stay so much better, they cannot do enough for you and are so friendly.
The rooms can be a little stuffy due to the small size and we opted not to pay for air con, but was easily resolved by having the balcony open which felt very safe.
The cleaners (3 ladys) were so friendly and cleaned the rooms beautifully!
The location is fantastic and is only about a ten minute walk into Kos Town.
Myself being an animal lover loved all the cats and dogs that ventured into the hotel and the brothers were so accepting of them being there.
If anyone happens to read this review and is at the hotel or is going then please can you look out for a little black and white kitten/cat, he was so beautiful and I wanted to take him home, I felt sad to leave him but would love to know that he is still being taken care of. There was also a lovely sandy coloured dog with a collar on saying "Castrated Stray, Simba" who I hope is okay too.
If we were going to the area again, we would most definitly stay in this hotel again, mostly because the family were so friendly (and the animals haha!)
Thank you!

clean hotel, deeeeeep pool

Myself, hubby and 14 year old daughter shared a room that probably was more meant for two so a bit of squeeze with three but not too bad, wish we'd gone more for the apartments at the back of the hotel. Rooms cleaned well everyday by very friendly staff. Bathroom was the usual wet room style which was as well as the pressure in the shower was quite high and took a bit of getting used to - showering without soaking everything in the room! The pool is clean but very deep (no real shallow end) absolutely fine for the swimmers in my family but not me - I only ever went in with a blow up ring or noodle - although I could sit on the steps in the water to cool down which was relaxing. Got a well stocked pool bar, music all day but not blaring, also serve food but this probably isn't their best feature. We liked the pizza and the fabulous milkshakes which were fairly reasonably priced, breakfast included with the cost of our room - little bit samey but all nice enough. Sunbeds always available and shaded areas to sit. Generally someone around at the front of the hotel or at least not very far away to help - happy to call you a taxi etc. WiFi at the hotel reception or at the bar - pretty good in those areas but you couldn't go far before you lost connection

Just what we needed!

My dad and I stayed here 2 weeks in the middle of August
Hotel room: we had a studio apartment which suited us just fine. It is cleaned daily to a very high standard with clean towels every day. We had a small kitchen was great for a cup of tea on a morning. The balcony was lovely to sit on an evening to read or play cards. The only tiny tiny issues we had was the fact that when the shower was running it flooded the rest of the bathroom - we rolled up a bathmat and it acted a dam, so that sorted that! We had a the AC on because it was so warm and although it was a bit expensive, I couldn't have done without it.
Breakfast: Lovely continental breakfast with a lot of options for vegetarians. If you don't fancy having the same every day, you can nip the poolside bar and get breakfast buns, full english, omelettes etc for a great price!
Pool: Good area with plenty of sunbeds and very clean, deep pool.
Food/Drink/Bar: sometimes had to wait a few minutes for service as the bartenders are also the chefs. But we couldn't fault their unwavering friendliness and chattiness! They were just great. Great pool table!
Getting around: Definitely travel to Kos Town by the bicycles outside the front of the hotel, it's safe as the cycle route is off the main road. It's also fairly cheap for approx. 10EUROS for 3 days. Great supermarket just opposite the hotel, you can get everything you need there!

lovely friendly hotel

stayed here beginning of August for 2 weeks, very basic room with 3 beds in so wasnt much room, but my daughter had another room which was bigger because it only had 2 beds could have done with a kettle so we could have had a morning coffee before breakfast, we stayed in the building by reception but there was another batch which was more updated with a little kitchen, but at end of day I only need a bed to sleep in, pool was clean with lots of sunbeds, I used to go out about 8.30 and was loads free, its a family run hotel and they will do anything for you, food was lovely and breakfast is between 7.30 and 9.30 consisting of ham, cheese, toast, rolls, bread, yoghurt, cereals, juice and coffee, was about 20 minute walk into Kos town, but lots of beaches within walking distance, would stay again

Pleasant stay close to everything you need

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for two weeks and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is run by the two brothers Miras and Kostas who are very nice to talk to and are mainly responsible for the bar area. The pool bar offers great drinks and food at relatively low prices. You might have to wait a minute for them to serve you as they are busy cooking and bartending at the same time. They are always friendly and helpful. We can very much recommend the BBQ night on Mondays (12,50€ per person) which includes delicious homemade Greek food like salads and souvlaki (pork & chicken). Kostas is happy to teach Greek dancing to anyone and offer a shot as reward afterwards. You can even dance in a ring of fire if you like to. Really a must to attend at least once! Rooms are clean but relatively small, but all including a comfy balcony which easily seats two people. A small supermarket is close by and offers everything you might need. An affordable rental for scooters and bikes is also next to the hotel. Wouldn't leave my keys at the reception as there is barely someone there and you have to ring a bell to get someone. A/C is relatively pricey with 6€/night, but the rooms are cheap. Breakfast gets boring after a few days, would recommend to make a sandwich which cheese, toast and ham which tastes okay. Juice, coffee, hot chocolate, cake and greek yoghurt with honey and some olives are offeres as well. The beach is nearby, clean but with pebbles. All in all it's worth a visit. Would recommend to stay at Iris Hotel.
