Great location and laid back
cmmatteson 14/04/2017 05:16I had a great time here! We were in for spring skiing and the location is the best you can get at winter park. The check in process was a bit confusing because they do not have the front desk staffed after a certain time and we got in around 8pm (read your email confirmation before driving up, we did not). Once we figured out that part it was perfect. It is a bit of a dated resort and definitely not luxurious. I only gave four because of the lack of resort amenities i.e. coffee shop, snack bar. It does have a great laid back mountain town feel and the pool/ hot tubs are awesome.
Great Value for Mountain Access
Brandon Won 05/04/2017 02:48This resort is a great value if you want Winter Park ski access. It's located on the corridor between Mary Jane base and Winter Park base. The corridor is a little flat, so snowboards won't like it too much. The rooms are individually owned. Our room was perfect and clean. I rented through VRBO. There is an indoor/outdoor pool and outdoor hot tubs. Older building, but well kept. To get to the resort form the mountain, you have to be comfortable with a long blue run or take the bus form the WP base.

Josie801on 31/03/2017 23:46We loved this condo! The natural light is amazing, it made the unit feel so open and airy. The condo is actually very, very spacious and there was plenty of room for the 5 of us, and all of our gear without feeling like it was piled up all over the place. We loved the ski in/ski out as well, although from this unit there is a little bit of a walk, but nothing prohibitive. Nick was great to work with in every way. LOL, I even called him from the top of the mountain as I could not remember which run to take to get back to the condo. He always promptly answered the phone and was very helpful.
Pleasant and spacious condo
Not24on 15/03/2017 22:29Had a very nice 2BR condo with great amenities - fireplace, w/d, cable tv, d/w. Lots of space in the living room for chilling after skiing. Nice full kitchen, stocked with stuff left from previous tenants - thanks! Couldn't have been happier.
Great location...poor condo!
afmomon 09/03/2017 01:10We stayed at Iron Horse in a studio condo (2054) from March 2-5. I booked online with Winter Park Central Reservations who, in turn, sent the reservation to Resort Management Group who manages that unit. It is outdated, which doesn't bother me, however, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the fold out couch should be replaced. You could feel the springs in the foldout's mattress and it sagged in areas where the lining didn't hold the mattress up any longer.
My main complaint was that Iron Horse doesn't manage their own condos--there are various management companies that own condos at Iron Horse and you must work with yours to rectify problems. However, when we asked for assistance from our management company, they would attempt to contact Iron Horse, who would not respond to them. This left us in the middle and without timely resolution of 2 different problems that we encountered upon arrival.
I definitely liked the location, however the lack of onsite management and timely resolution has solidified my decision never to return.
