karen bon 15/10/2017 23:37Last week I traveled to Pemberton, NJ to visit a college, and I stayed at the Isaac Hilliard House Bed and Breakfast. I arrived later than anticipated, and Phyllis, the owner, was most gracious and greeted me before telling me about my room. I stayed in the Cranberry Room, and it was cozy and decorated with care. I slept soundly. The following morning I enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the dining room, where I was served piping hot tea (in a gorgeous teapot), yogurt parfait, and a delicious sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast casserole served over an English muffin. Phyllis was an attentive host, and made me feel right at home. Her little, friendly dog, Dash, who rested on a cushion in the beautifully decorated porch, was a favorite with the guests. Although I had quite a distance to travel, it was a pleasure chatting with Phyllis about our families and our hobbies. As this B&B is currently for sale, I hope whoever purchases this property will care for it, and its future guests, as Phyllis has. I wish her all the best in her future endeavors. I highly recommend travelers taking the time to find this hidden gem. You will not be disappointed.
I Will Never Use Booking.com again!!!

Even though I had a confirmed reservation through booking.com, I got an email the morning of my stay telling me that the facility was overbooked and that we did not have a room. Instead, Booking.com found a place for us at a Holiday Inn Express! Not quite what we had in mind. Apparently their confirmed reservation does not mean anything. Don't trust them or you will end up driving around late at night looking for a place to stay.
A Step Back In Time
Wendy Mon 28/05/2017 02:46As I entered through the huge intricately carved front door, I entered a home full of antiques and very interesting furniture pieces. The federal style Hilliard House was built in 1749. Our host of this very well appointed home was Phyllis Davis. Phyllis made us a wonderful breakfast starting off with fruit. As a former nurse she understands the power of breakfast. Phyllis said every day should start out with fruit. Each guest room has it's own bathroom. We so enjoyed our conversations with Phyllis. The is an in ground pool to enjoy. The home is clean. The decor is fascinating. Each piece must have such an interesting back story. We loved sitting in the parlor chatting. Phyllis and Her partner Gene O'Brien have done a wonderful job presenting their B and B as a charming and cozy place to hang your hat!

lchase07whson 06/04/2017 22:03A truly wonderful experience. The whole place was so clean and lovingly taken care of. I really felt like I was walking into someone's home from another era, from the real hardwood floors to the lace eyelet curtains and a pedestal sink in the bathroom. Phyllis was a phenomenal host, and had so many interesting stories to share about her world travels. She is also an accomplished poet. Spending time with her really makes this place an experience rather than just a bed to sleep in. However when I wanted quiet down time, she was very conscious of privacy and the location was perfect for a getaway. One of my favorite parts of my stay was the marvelous breakfast she prepared (yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, and poached eggs on an English muffin with bacon) as well as how comfortable the bed was and the fresh cotton smell of the linens. A really great experience and I will definitely be returning.

Christian Kon 21/09/2016 02:56Stay here. As an Englishman I was greeted perfectly, and that was by a charming lady named Phyllis Davis. Phyllis made me a cup of tea with bone china, tea leaves in a tea pot with milk and sugar. It was perfection. This is a beautiful historic house with charm exuding from every nook and cranny. Clean comfortable rooms in a beautiful setting. Stay here soon. The place is up for sale and Phyllis is going to move away. Stay here to experience perfect old world charm and comfort before this beautiful sweet lady retires one final time. I want to give more than five stars but I can't.
