What People are saying

good place to stay

Sandra_mm2015 on 11/05/2017 22:07

We only stayed for 1 night at this ryokan and it had all the comfort we hoped for. Lots of space for 3 people (not always a given in Kyoto), clean and quiet but within walking distance from the subway. As we were staying during Cherry blossom season and booked only few days in advance due to some change of plans we were suprised to find this affordable place. I would book this ryokan again if visiting Kyoto.

We spent 2 nights here ,the hotels had our rooms ready and payment can be made by Card on checkout.it is reasonablely priced and the fact that you can reserve a room with a private toilet and bath. They have separate men/women communal baths (onsen) which are traditional and part of the ryokan experience,No breakfast or dinner is available ,this place is however a 15 min walk from the main shopping place where you can have dinner.(the staff come in the evening to make the futon beds). Traditional to ryokans, they provide yukatas (japanese clothing) that you can wear around the room or facilities.
for the tour of the city you can buy a bus pass from the hotel reception for 500 yen for a full day.

Perfect Ryokan

We really enjoyed our 3-day staying in this ryokan
the price is justified by a very high quality service
The rooms are big, comfy and clean
In the B1F you can find the japanese-style bath, where you can relax after a tyring day in Kyoto.
I will surely came back next time i'll come back to Japan

Max a two star hotel, save you money book an other hotel

Pros:
Old japansk hotel
Ok daily cleaning

Cons:
Very old and dirty rooms (pls see pictures). In short rooms need renovation.

You sleep on the floor, think twice before you think it could be fun to try. We all slept terrible.

Strange blanket and small pillow.

Front desk was not helpful and could not speak english would not order a taxi and would not help us with cancelling the last night of our stay.

The hotel is located fare away from all attraction and shopping areas.

The view from our 3. floor room was a white wall.

Perfect First Ryokan Experience for Family

emurak007 on 03/04/2016 02:36

My draw to this place was the reasonable price and the fact that you can reserve a room with a private toilet and bath. They have separate men/women communal baths (onsen) which are traditional and part of the ryokan experience, but not everyone in my family was comfortable enough to use it. The rooms and facilities were very clean and staff were friendly & helpful (they speak minimal English). My kids loved the tatami room and sleeping on the futons (the staff come in the evening to make the futon beds). Traditional to ryokans, they provide yukatas (japanese clothing) that you can wear around the room or facilities. As far as food, we were unfortunately unable to experience dinner in our room because we had not reserved in advance, but we had japanese breakfast in the dining room (buffet style), which was delicious. The selections were exactly what I had hoped for and brought me back to the kind of breakfasts my family would make in Japan. We took a taxi to and from Kyoto station and it cost about 1800 yen each way. A great Ryokan experience.
