We enjoyed a two-night stay at the Island Beach Resort in one of their two-bedroom units, to attend a concert at The Star casino.
Arriving into Gold Coast airport, the 777 airport bus ended just opposite the street where this complex is located, so just a short walk and we were there. Although quite early in the day, we could check-in and received a friendly welcome and tour by the manager. The unit was surprisingly big, with a large lounge opening to the front balcony, a full kitchen, bedroom (with own balcony) and small bathroom, then upstairs a large bedroom (with massive front balcony and small rear one) and ensuite.
The complex is older but appeared to be very well maintained and the common areas/pool were always immaculate. Our unit was comfortably furnished and of a good standard for the price we paid.
The location is great too - easy access to airport bus or the new tram service along the coast, a few minutes to the beach, and a couple of blocks to the heart of Broadbeach's shopping/eating area. Pacific Fair and The Star casino are both just across the highway too, so 10-15mins walk away.
We were very happy to have chosen this place (based on a combination of location, TripAdvisor review and price), it served us well for a couple of nights and we'd certainly stay there again.

Do not book here if you don't want to get ripped off! We didn't end up staying here as we cancelled our trip, but this hotel tried to steal our money even though we had free cancellation and cancelled months before we were due to stay. After we cancelled, this hotel took the full amount for our trip and tried to keep it (despite very clear cancellation conditions, whereby we were well within our rights to cancel and not be charged anything). Hotel told us it was non-refundable and was very rude. Attitude of the staff I spoke to was terrible. Thankfully, we had booked online through a larger booking site and they were able to recover our money. This is my first negative review but I felt compelled to warn others.

We recently stayed here for 7 nights. Comfortable apartment in a fantastic location - across from a school oval giving sense of space, only 6 or 7 minutes walk to the ocean at Broadbeach - patrolled beach at the end of the street. Comfortable bed, clean apartment. However kitchen has only basic equipment, virtually no detergent, no beach or pool towels (could get extra towels for a fee), unit showing some signs of wear, need for some maintenance. Nevertheless we would stay again & would give it a 4 star rating. Swimming pool is heated and very clean - we enjoyed a couple of swims. Outdoor shower to clean sand off a plus, along with a spa. Also great BBQ - kept clean. Appreciated secure undercover car parking & property security.

Check in was quick and efficient. The two bedroom apartment was very spacious with two ensuits. Balconies to bedrooms and lounge were a delihhtful luxury. The apartments are a stone's throw from the beach and a short walk to the shops.It was an old building but very clean and well maintained

We stayed hear for 8 nights, arrived late however the key arrangement was excellent, unit very clean, quiet and great locations to shops, malls, travel per tram,and bus and restaurants in easy walking distance, would stay again
