Meets our needs
Kresqon 02/05/2017 23:37This unfancy place does all the right things to make a stay enjoyable and comfortable. The staff is very friendly, the coffee tea and welcome snacks are appreciated, Internet is free, the room is spacious and very clean. I stayed in a pets allowed room which was like any other room and again appreciated the thoughtful touches including free roll of dog waste bags and written suggestions for dog friendly walks. The river outside is soothing even though the sound of the road is also close by. I will definitely return if I need to be in the area
Cozy and clean hotel
Lindsay Bon 18/04/2017 19:33Great hotel! The owners and staff are very friendly and laid back, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Each room has multiple chairs and a desk, and it doesn't feel cramped. Lots of outlets! The wi-fi is reliable and strong, which was great because I didn't have very good cell reception (AT&T) while I was in Peterborough. Fridge and freezer in the room, as well as a coffee maker and a microwave.
The lobby is very friendly and inviting, with drinks and snacks (cookies!) set up during the day, plus lots of info about Peterborough and nearby attractions. Some nice options for breakfast too, although I didn't partake. I accidentally dropped one of the room keys in a friend's car, and didn't realize it until the next morning when my friend was back in MA. The woman at the desk was very nice about it, and she told me that you can just drop the keys in the mail and the Jack Daniels will cover return postage. It shows that the owners really care about this place. This is easily one of my favorite smaller hotels of all time. There's also a cute little lending library outside, which I thought was a really nice touch.
The only downside to this place is that some of the rooms have two double beds (the other rooms have king-sized beds.) The beds themselves were incredibly comfortable, with lots of pillows and blankets, but double beds are smaller than I'm used to and I'm a restless sleeper so my husband and I had to sleep apart. When we checked in, my husband was feeling quite sick and needed to lie down, so we took the double room because it was ready (the vacant king room was still being cleaned.) Next time, we'll stay in one of the bigger rooms.
Bonus: the walls aren't thin at all. The hotel was completely booked the night we stayed, and I heard zero noise from the other rooms (save for a maid vacuuming upstairs, but no chatter!) This is quite rare, especially in smaller hotels, so if you need a lot of peace and quiet, this is your place.
The shower was incredible with lots of pressure and hot water. Just a note: the water in Peterborough is very soft.
Looking forward to coming back!
A clean and nice place to stay in Peterborough, NH
bcw054on 17/04/2017 15:44We've stayed at the Jack Daniel's Inn a few times and it is clean, the staff are so friendly, accommodating, & helpful and the location is great. It is located between a river and the main road, but the rooms are quiet. A serve yourself breakfast is included. I highly recommend this Inn!
