What People are saying
Won't go back
zinger430on 29/06/2017 18:25Mattress was hard, so used bedspread to sleep on to try to help. Asked for a blanket and the one that was given should have been thrown away. It was hard and scratchy because someone washed (or dried) in too hot of a setting. The blanket had melted and it felt like a Brillo pad. Seriously. (If you held it in one hand, it didn't droop - just stuck out straight.) Noisy hallways - people were coming in and out all hours of the night and didn't even try to be quiet (2:00 a.m. through 3:00 a.m.). The breakfast was good but we are more concerned with a comfortable good night's sleep so this did not fit the bill for us. Sorry, we won't be back.
Not bad at all
Carolyn Oon 24/06/2017 02:21This is a pretty decent place for the budget minded. It is sandwiched in between a Super8 and a Holiday Inn Express. It is conveniently located just off the highway, and near several fast food/family chain restaurants, such as Perkins and Waffle House.
Check in was easy and friendly. I was offered my choice of first floor or second floor, and front or back of the hotel. I was told without asking about the continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, and pool towels.
Of particular note: they did not have the air conditioner on in the lobby or in the hallways, so it was quite hot. They also did not have the air on in the room they put me in, and that was rather hot, also. However, the air-conditioners work very well, and it only took a few minutes for my room to cool down.
Note: there is no elevator. It did not bother me, but I had heard through other reviews that the upper level rooms were quieter. Consequently I requested an upper-level room. If stairs present difficulty for you, just to be advised that there is no elevator.
The room was clean and adequate. The bed is comfortable and there are sufficient pillows on the bed for my taste. While it's not fancy – think Super8 - it does have a nice tv, a hair dryer, a fridge and a microwave.
The bathroom is spacious, and has a lot of counterspace. This is important to me as a woman; I have plenty of room to spread out my hair products and skin products and other toiletries. I have not tried the shower yet, so I cannot speak to the water pressure.
My only real disappointment is the pool. I am an avid lap swimmer, and chose this hotel because it was advertised that they have a "very large pool." I would not describe this pool as large at all. It is perhaps 10 feet in width and maybe 20 feet in length. In a 25 yard pool, I average 18 strokes for a length. I can do maybe five strokes to get to the end of this pool. It does have a lift chair. It's a nice pool for the kids, or for cooling off, but for serious swimmers, it's not much of a pool.
I had read in other reviews that the upper level rooms are quieter. I sat outside in the front and read a book for a while, and the noise from the swimmers in the Super8 next door was pretty extreme. If you want quiet, I would definitely recommend an upper-level room in the back.
They offer a continental breakfast from 6 to 9 AM. It does not look like it has much more than your standard Super8 offers. However, with the Waffle House in walking distance, and a grocery store located about a mile away, that won't be an issue for me.
All in all, I would say that if you are wanting to save a little money, and aren't looking for anything fancy, this is a good choice. And when I am traveling, I generally just want something clean and quiet, and located close enough to grocery stores, convenient stores, and restaurants.
Nice clean quiet hotel
Mountainlover1234on 06/06/2017 04:04Usually stay at the Hampton Inn here but running to Ohio on a budget this time gave them a try. Room and lobby were clean hotel was very well priced. For less than half the cost I was able to stay the night, as my halfway point.
convenient to interstate 40
twyleahon 24/05/2017 08:14The hotel staff was very pleasant. If you want more than cereal or toast for breakfast, you will need to go to go to a restaurant, breakfast is minimal. I love that the WiFi is absolutely free, quiet atmosphere, decent sized rooms, sitting area in the lobby. The price is the best thing about the motel.
Good value
Greg Won 22/05/2017 21:19All the employees were very nice and welcoming. The rooms and hallways were clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok, but it filled me up. For half the cost of other motels, it is a great value.
