Accommodation: Nice clean room with towels, clothes hangers and fresh water provided. We had an ensure bathroom with very decent shower. Stayed here after a week in numerous hostels so appreciated being left to please ourselves re air con and storage. We were able to leave our luggage after we checked out which was great!
Location: about 900m walk from nearest bus stop. The number 8 takes you straight into Dubrovnik old town. It is quite hard going to reach by foot, only because Dubrovnik is so hilly, with LOTS of steps so this problem would most likely occur with any accommodation booked.
Would rate it as value for money. Very friendly people!
Wifi was free and worked fine!
Great base to use whilst visiting Dubrovnik
Linda2011ismon 05/08/2017 09:34I would have no hesitation recommending Jele Rooms to others. It's a simple, homely place situated well away from the crowds of tourists.I was in a single room, facing the garden, which had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. There is a fridge,air-conditioning,small cooker with pots, cutlery, plates etc, kettle and even a washing machine for those who need it.(This had a supplement of 50 kuna.)
Jele rooms are only 10 mins walk from the port and main bus station.I used the local transport to get around. As well as the very regular bus into Dubrovnik,(10 min journey and bus stop 3 mins from Jele rooms), I would suggest going to visit Cavtat (bus 10) and Srebreno(Bus 16a) which are beautiful villages situated about half an hour's drive from Dubrovnik.
In the close vicinity there are some supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and a laundrette.
The old lady who owns the apartments doesn't speak much English but managed to have some basic conversation. However,I have to make a special mention of Valerija, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. She met me at the bus station on my arrival.(Despite being on her lunch break) and arranged for her friend to take me to the airport bus on my return. She was busy meeting other guests in the port at that time.During my stay I had problems with my phone charger.Valerija immediately offered the use of her spare charger which I used during the holiday.Nothing was too much trouble for her.She gave me some useful information and advice throughout my visit.Thank you Valerija!
Very nice stay!
Hannakrion 23/07/2017 15:10We stayed in Jele Rooms only for one night but would have loved to stay longer. The rooms are very clean and bright and cozy. They have a shared kitchen for guests which was nice. The host was very nice, she even lend us money for a bus to city as we did not have cash with us. I can recommend Jele Rooms for a stay in Dubrovnik!
Excellent family run place to stay in Dubrovnik!
jpmorskion 30/06/2017 17:09Jele Rooms was everything you could expect for 3 stars and the price. The location is great! in Gruz, just a 15 or so minute walk to the Old City. Supermarkets, bakeries and a pizzaria are all located within 2 minutes. The place is cozy, clean, safe, quiet and very comfortable. I would go back in a second and without hesitation. For me, it was a perfect place to stay for my week in Dubrovnik. The staff is fantastic. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't... I'd love to go back.
Peaceful & clean
Ggina mon 28/05/2017 15:50Just come back from having a lovely stay at Jele Rooms! Arranging pick up and drop off at the airport with Jele rooms made traveling feel a lot smoother and having been given some good advice and directions on the drive from the airport helped!
The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and in good nick. It's in a very quiet area, so is very peaceful at night. There's a bus into the old city runs every 20 minutes and is only 15kuna, or the walk is about 30 minutes. Close to the port, bakery pizzeria and supermarket.
Chairs and tables outside with a lovely vegetable patch, trees and flowers- felt like home for the week! Worth a visit, would stay again! :-)
