What People are saying

LOVE THIS SKI RESORT

superwommanon 22/03/2017 00:48

The staff here is absolutely amazing! They are all friendly, each and every person we met - which felt like everyone!

We messed up our order at every turn, from our reservation, our lessons, our tickets, and our equipment because we decided to up and go at the last minute, and yet everyone was amazingly helpful, going out of their way to help us even though we made all the mistakes!

We will be coming back to this resort every year possible!

Great Ski Mountain

vacaalotnycon 20/02/2017 20:42

We just returned from 3 nights. We will absolutely return - the mountain is great. Very family friendly and the night skiing is amazing. The Inn is old and needs updating. We arrived late in the evening and at first I was very dissapointed. First we were in one of the "wings" on the 2nd floor - and there are no elevators. And this is a ski trip so we literally had 20 bags.

The hotel is a labrynth - the hallways are right out of The Shining. One floor up, two floors down to get anywyere. The room itself was a good size, but had seen better days. We got a roll away cot (which they charge for - cheesy) and it was missing a leg so we had to put a book under it so my daughter wouldnt roll off.

Our (tiny) kitchen had all we needed, but we had to take the shelves out of the tiny fridge to fit milk, oj, water bottles, etc.

The beds were incredibly comfortable - think they may have even been temperpedic.

When we do it again I will request a mountain facing room so we can ski in and ski out. We were on the far other side of the building - so a long, long, long trek everywhere.

Houskeeping was iffy. They didnt empty any waste bins except the one in the kitchen. Remade the cot without a fitted sheet. Got the feeling the only time they vacume is in between guests.

The John Harvard restuarant was fine - the food was very good, it was just a frantic atmosphere - the waitresses seemed to be running around quite a bit. The Tavern actually has a better menu is close (if you are on the left side of the buildig).

But again the mountain is very skiable and the night skiing is amazing, so we will be back. Just better prepared.

Amazing location but very dirty!

Italianwithtastebudson 16/02/2017 03:20

Wanted to love this place because we love ski in ski out but.....Stayed for a two night ski weekend with 3 kids. So amazing to be ski in ski out and have the kids watch the skiers at night from the window BUT this hotel needs to invest in a cleaning service and some acceptable bedding!
There was black mold in the shower, the molding were covered in dirt, there was spackle in shower ceiling with no paint over it. The couch was covered in crumbs and hair. When we opened the pull out for our kids to sleep on it was a bare mattress , no bed bug cover. When we asked for more sheets ( to double up cause mattress had actual dirt on it, they went into a dirty closet where sheets were crumpled on a shelf! Bring your own sheets!!!
See pictures. I wasn't expecting luxury but a hotel can be rustic but clean! I would never go back to this hotel because of the filth. And this is what I could see can you imagine the germs you can,t see.
The restaurant in the hotel was cozy and standard comfort food.

10+ year coming here Treated Poorly

NJTravelMom63on 15/02/2017 20:21

My family has been coming here with a large group forever. Over the last couple of years the service has been fair to poor. The pots and dishes in my room were dirty, the heat didn't work, maid service did nothing except make the bed and change the towels, and the front desk staff was rude and nasty. My package was supposed to come with two adult and two Jr lift tickets, but my husband and other child couldn't come, so I had a friend of my other child staying with me and I had to fight to get three lift tickets. They finally gave it to me but one of the tickets expired after two days and it should have been a four day ticket and they refused to fix the error. This was the most ridiculous situation. I was going to extend my stay but I'm leaving and going to another mountain. I am also finding another place for this very large ski group for next year. Looking into Stratton.

The best overnight skiing experience

hituluon 14/02/2017 03:16

I wish I knew about this place years ago, I would have been a regular already. We had everything we need in our room, which was conveniently located on the 2nd floor, just a short walk to the ski lift. Made our skiing experience completely hustle free. I really enjoyed the fact that the ski lifts are open till 10 pm - so much better than a place we visited before - Smuggler Notch that closes at 4 pm and you can die from boredom afterwards... Here, we would ski, had breaks for lunch and dinner and ski again - what an unforgettable vacation! We also used an outside pool and both inside and outside hot tubs - just a short walk across the hall. An added convenience was our own locker to hold the skiing equipment close to the exit overnight. Just a few negative things worth mentioning: a) the checkout at 10:30 is extremely early. Why not extend till noon or at least 11 am as customary in most hotels? b) If you are on the lower floor, you will hear everything. We probably had a family with kids above us, and they would wake us up super early... Well, this is an old building and probably not much can be done about that... Lastly, the coffee in the lobby was only available at limited time in the morning or afternoon. Why not to extend it to be available throughout the day? At least, it would be nice if it would be there during checkout hours, so that people can help themselves with hot drink for a long journey home... These are really small comments, I will be happy to be back, maybe even this year.
