What People are saying

4 nights of no rest

Lovenotcamping22on 17/08/2017 21:56

WOW was it loud. We specifically requested a quiet room when we booked months in advance, but the room we received was so loud, it was like sleeping on the highway. The hotel sits at one of the few main intersections in town. Lots of people in Juneau need new mufflers, or they have intentionally loud ones.

We put fans on, downloaded a noise app on the IPad, wore earplugs, but the traffic noise was still extremely loud. After 4 nights of little sleep, and an airplane ride, we got colds when we returned home. Fantastic.

One more detail, most of the staff were great, but one woman who said that room was our only option, was very unkind. She could not have cared less. We checked in early and I saw other families with the same # of people, who checked in after we did, in a quieter section of the hotel.

As for the positive notes, the kitchenette and laundry facilities in the room were great. It was nice to make food in the room; the restaurants are pretty spendy, like most everything else in Juneau. And the room was very clean.

Clean, simple and convenient, but a bit noisy!

We just completed a 5 day stay at the Juneau Hotel. Our suite had a well-equipped full kitchen, couch with coffee table, and separate bedroom. There is no air conditioning (because.....Alaska). We happened to be there during a lovely warm dry spell, and were able to cool the rooms off nicely with the ceiling fan. The continental breakfast was simple, but adequate. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can easily walk to the tourist area in downtown Juneau. The hotel is right on busy Egan drive and backs up to the bridge to Douglas Island, so bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise, or ask for a room on the east side. Great choice for independent travelers to Juneau.

Great location walking distance to town, good value

We stayed here in July. Hotel is older but most in Juneau are. This was a moderate priced hotel in Juneau that was close to town. The hotel room was huge with full kitchen, washer and dryer, separated Bedroom and living room. Rooms were clean with flat screen in both living room and bedroom. This would be a great hotel for anyone staying for a longer period needing laundry, or a fishing trip where you want to wash clothes every day. Location is one block off the water. Hotel shuttle (free) takes a little while to get to you, it works two hotels- so call when you land so they are there for you when you have your luggage ready. Nice continental breakfast with usual cereal, yogurt, toast and muffins. Thinks along the lines of Super 8 or Clarion. There is only one upscale hotel in town and it is about 40% more, but if you want 4 star that's your only choice. Walk to town was flat and about 10 minutes. There is the main highway close to the hotel and the bridge to Douglas- so it's not completely quiet, but not overly noisy either.

What great service!

This hotel is the best! It is located within walking distance of major downtown attractions, shopping, and services, yet it does not have "city" feel to it. It is located next to the channel and the Douglas Bridge (with 2 beautiful parks nearby). Our extended stay suite had everything we needed for 3 people and an infant to be comfortable. The staff were caring and followed thorough on every request we made. I loved this place!

Spacious and great location.

They say you can't tell abook by it's cover. A very plain building outside but lovely inside with great rooms. Full kitchen with microwave, oven, hotplates, dishwasher and full sized fridge. Also have your own washing machine and dryer. Hairdryer in bathroom. Close to supermarket, pizza joint and only a short walk into city. All in all a great spot only marred by the stuff ups at front desk in regards to transport to and from the airport. All resolved though.
