Call of the Wild
Bhupinder Son 27/08/2017 03:513 things that make a trip memorable - hospitality, food & places/things to see around. JRW is all that and much more. From the moment we arrive at this natural farm to the time we drive out of the place, every moment spent here makes you feel alive and connected to the Jungle. The farm has a magical feel to it.
The watering hole, the aptly placed watch tower and the dining area overlooking the farm is perfect for naturalists / wildlife enthusiasts. 10/10 for the food which feels very homely and leaves you wanting more. Please keep in mind that they do not have a fancy menu, its mostly the local cuisine but cooked with great warmth to make you feel home.
There are various stay options; we were 4 friends who stayed 1 night in the cottage & owners villa and 1 night in the Jungle Villa. Each had their own uniqueness and usp, but the Jungle villa (being closer to the jungle) had a very rustic feel to it.
Special mention to Manu & team. The highlight of our trip was the Jungle Walk with Manu where he guided us into the forest adjoining the farm. Manu is extremely knowledgeable and loves to share his wisdom on wildlife. He guided us cautiously through the forest as we went into the denser part of the Jungle. Although we didn't sight any animals save the deer, we came across fresh pug marks of the wild one. We were alive to each and every sound in the Jungle.
The bonfire by the stream was also unforgettable as we sat and sipped on soup and Manu recalled his many experiences and encounters with wildlife.
All in all, a fabulous and unique experience that leaves you wanting to come back and stay there.
A word of caution - you may not enjoy as much if you are not a wildlife lover.

paarthibhannayagamon 14/07/2017 10:14Awesome would be an understatement for the experience we have had at this place. Great location, great view and sightings, great ambience, great service, great food and exemplary hosts and staff. Do not want to be too descriptive, guess my review sums it all.
Great experience
travelapp_tlyon 12/07/2017 18:03Visited with family and friends in first week of Jul and stayed for 2 days. The place is 6 km before thirunelli temple and right in centre of elephant country. They have a variety of accommodation including cottages ,villas and rooms. The rooms are spacious and nice. Food was excellent throughout , best part of the place is it's location and staff. All the staff were very helpful through out the stay. The best part of the retreat is that all staff are wildlife enthusiasts themselves. Special mention goes to Mr Manu who took great pains to ensure that we had a great stay. Will not enjoy the place if you are not interested in wildlife.

Deepak Jon 11/07/2017 05:01A nice stay with lots of wild life close to the property. Will definitely go back. The owners and staff though helpful, allow their guests their privacy. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Don't expect a fancy city type resort room though.
