Clean rooms overlooking the ocean
BrianAthens_Txon 05/07/2017 08:11Our room was at the end of the building close to the Luau that they hold every...single...night. We tried to be gone then, that's the main reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. The Ocean Inn is adjacent (and part of) to the Royal Lahaina resort. This part of Maui is packed with resorts. Don't come here expecting a remote or rustic location. Lahaina is a modern, bustling town, as is most of this side of the island.

Inexpensive considered it is so close to the big hotel and nice because on a beautiful beach that isn't as crowded as the other side with nicer hotels. We were able to use the amenities of the other expensive hotel and the Luau- one of the best of Maui- was right in front of our room. Would recommend also with kids. If expecting a resort though this might not be what you're looking for
Pleasant, for a quick business trip
PBTravelstheWorldon 30/06/2017 20:35Great value for a one night business trip. Though I was next to the road in the back "V" building, except for the early trash truck it was fine. No view, but a patio sitting area with a table and chair made for a nice work area. Front desk was pleasant and efficient at check in and food staff was very pleasant too!
The TV and cable were unplugged (so the maid did not check that everything was in working order) so I plugged them in for the news; however, the TV/cable did not work. I called and waited an hour, then called again (they had not requested that anyone check it out) - waited another 30 minutes before someone came to check it out. Turns out that I had the wrong TV/Cable control and the TV was not setup correctly - which they setup and replaced after another 15 minutes. Since this was in the afternoon, during "business hours" it should have not been necessary for the second call. Also the maid staff needs to check that everything in a room works - or at least is plugged in!

bearkat91on 18/06/2017 20:55Room was very clean, location was right on a beautiful beach. Close to shopping, luau was right next door ! Love this place !! Can't beat pricing.Would stay again. Parking was closer than some big resorts. AAA One of the last remaining old style Hawaii feel hotels.I hope that it will be around on our next trip to Maui.
Amazing value for a beautiful beach!
lucky_charm2300on 18/06/2017 03:00This was my fourth time staying at this property (since 2006). This is a hidden gem is the best value in Maui for the best beach. What I love about this place is that you can get to the beach in less than a one minute walk. The beach is perfect- crystal clear, beautiful sand and view all around and pretty quiet. The hotel is part of the Royal Lahaina Resort so you get to use all of the resort's amenities which is great. The furniture in the room (bed in particular) have been upgraded sine my last visit 4 years ago, however, the rooms themselves could use an upgrade. Was fine for our needs, but the carpet and room could definitely use a refresher. The hotel itself is probably a 2 star; however, I give it 4 stars for the location and value. We got engaged right on the beach and had a great photo shoot with the resort's photographer so our memories will always have the Kannapali Ocean Inn and Royal Lahaina Resort close to our hearts! (Shout out to Brenden the photographer!) Will definitely return and hope the Kaanapali Ocean Inn continues to be a great value right on the beach!
