We spent 3 nights at this hotel and had a good stay here. As a previous reviewer said, it is a very Chinese hotel, and if you don't want to be disturbed, just unplug your phone (which rang just moments after we entered the room and once again about 30 minutes later). Our room was very clean and quiet, on the 16th floor with a great view of the city. The bed was reasonably comfortable (by China standards – firm but not lumpy). There is a western-style toilet and a shower that sprays directly on the floor, but at least it drained well. Housekeeping came every day and did a good job. Breakfast is included – very Chinese – and the only beverage included is hot water, but the food was pretty good. It is a 5-minute walk to the train station and directly next door to where you buy tickets for long-distance buses. There are a lot of decent restaurants right in the neighborhood. Our room rate was 168 yuan per night, which made this business hotel a very good value. There is no English sign outside to identify this hotel, so we found it a little tricky to find but asked someone who pointed us in the right direction. The staff doesn't speak a lot of English but enough that we were able to get checked in and out without difficulty. I would stay at this hotel again if I return to Lanzhou.

I would recommend this hotel for very short stays -- I took a 4-hour nap here for RMB 80. It is not cheap, but it was safe, clean and reliable.
Rooms are clean, facilities were basic, and the bed was relatively hard.
This is a very local Chinese hotel. Somebody called my room phone and when I said 'hello' the other side hung up. This is very normal -- usually someone is trying to sell erotic massages. If you're in for a peaceful nap, just unplug the phone before going to sleep.
