What People are saying

Wonderful staff and service

saidydoron 03/06/2017 18:19

We have stayed at this hotel for a number of years and whilst it is a little tired, the location is my preference as it is very central. The staff can not be faulted, they have made our holidays most enjoyable. Special thanks to Wally and Samba for helping make our holidays great.

Very god located hotel but a bad attitude from the staff at the counter.

The hotel is very good located, and the rooms are ok, but it is to expensive for the quality. The cleaning and service staff is very nice. The breakfast is ok, not anything to get excited about. I was in Gambia on business, and i had to prolonge my stay with one day. So the last night i got back to the hotel at 21.45, very tired after a long day with meetings, the staff asked me if i could check out know so they did not have to do it so early in the morning. I told them that i did not have my credit card on me and it was located in the hotel room, but they insisted that i pay for the extra before i went to bed. So i walked all the way down to the room got my credit card, went back to the reception to pay, i stood there for 30 min. and they could not get a signal to there credit card machine. I said ok, i will come a little bit earlier tomorrow morning and pay fore that one day. NO you have to pay know, but how can i pay when your machine dont work, i have no more cash on me and the bill was on 9300 D. He told me that i have to go to another hotel and raise some money so i could pay them.
Know the clock is getting closer to 22.30 and i am really getting mad.
So i found another hotel, close by but they told that i have to bring my pass port to raise money on my credit car, and they will charge 4% in fee.
So all the way back to my hotel, and back to the room to pic up the passport and out again to the other hotel and raise some money. Then i got back to Kairaba reception and payed my bill, then i realized that the other hotel forgot to give me my passport back, and then i all started over again. The staff at Kairaba did not give any excuse ore offered to pay for the charge that i had to pay to the other hotel.
I am coming back to Gambia on Business, and next time we are 4 people coming and i have to stay there for 2 weeks but it will never be in Kairaba again.

Peaceful Resort

Stayed here in December 2016 with work and absolutely loved the place. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and are alway on hand. The gardens are stunning and well kept and the pool area is just perfect, it was never loud or overly busy. The food here was also brilliant and had the best breakfast selection out of all the hotels I visited during my time in Gambia. The rooms are a little dated but the A/C was perfect the shower was brill, the beds were very comfortable and it was spotlessly clean too so can't really complain. I would love to return one day - the hotel and the Gambia in general are just brilliant, if you're considering this hotel/this destination, get in touch with your travel agent and book it now!!

Hotel with birds and monkeys roaming in the grounds.

UNpeacekeeperon 12/05/2017 23:49

We were here for the conference on statelessness held by UNHCR and other meetings. It is nice to see the peacocks, cranes and other birds as well as monkeys roaming around the grounds. The beach and pool area are nice too. I like that there was enough light and a good sized desk where I could type my reports in the hotel room. The only things I didn't like were that if they have a conference you might not get food in the restaurant since everyone seems to be focused only on the conference attendees also they charge you 3% and hefty bank fees for credit card payments so an $89 room ends up costing $122.

Great attention to detail

One of the best hotels we have stayed in in Africa, everything about the hotel is spot-on , rooms are well equipped, clean and spacious, staff are helpful, attentive and professional. Loungers by the pools, on the lawns or on the beach, a very peaceful place to unwind. With some good birds in the grounds.
