Wanning is located in Hainan and has wonderful beaches. If you happen to visit the place, do stay here. It is a fantastic resort, good for families as well as for couples. The rooms are very good, spacious and neat. Great hospitality! The staff is very courteous and cooperative. Though majority of people are not fluent in English but they still try and help the visitors.
Do stay in one of the pool facing rooms. The property is huge with 18-hole golf course as well and 2 swimming pools! Good place to relax and enjoy.

I had booked 6 rooms for a night for my own family. In all, this is the most satisfying hotel of the 3 hotels I stayed in Hainan Island.
When we arrived at the resort, our luggage was placed near two electric-powered carts. Once we checked in, the porter would transport us and the luggage to the rooms, which is only about 2 minutes walk away.
With cleanliness as one of my top priorities, the room fit like a glove to hand. The room opens to the swimming pool, jacuzzi and hot spring pool. It is literary steps away from my room and my kids are overjoyed. Whenever opportunity arises, they would attempt to go dip their toes in the pool.
Additionally, my room also comes with a private hot spring bath on the patio. And everyone used this extensively. I had also used it to warm the kids up after their swimming in the cold pool.
In the morning, I observed that they cleaned out both the hot spring pool and the jacuzzi before filling with fresh hot spring water.
One of the many activities offered by the hotel was the releasing of “Kong Ming” lantern. This is to signify that your wishes (which is written onto the lantern) are transported to the heavens to be granted. Fun though it lasts less than 5 minutes.
One of the disappointing aspects was the lack of maps and directions from the hotel staff. I approached the hotel reception to obtain some maps of Hainan Island but was told that they only have one and it is to be returned immediately after usage. They took almost 10minutes to track it down and it is one of those maps that should be widely available from any self respecting tourism bureau/board. Furthermore, the map looked well used and torn at many places. I would have expected the hotel to cooperate and coordinate better with the local tourism board to provide such information readily, especially at a 5star rated hotel.
One other point to note at this hotel. There are no breakfast joints in Xinglong and as such, the best option is to have the hotel take care of the breakfast. I regretted that I did not take up the rate for breakfast as I thought breakfast should be easily found in China. I was wrong and the whole entourage had the first meal that day at 1pm in Sanya.
All in, the staff is courteous and the area was nicely done up. My whole family had really enjoyed this resort.

This was a fantastic resort- spacious, great service, kid friendly and beautiful. The rooms are large, the food is great and the price is a dream. Most of the staff have a little English and are helpful without being intrusive.
We will definately return. We spent 9 nights at Yalong bay, but prefer this resort. We had a room right beside the lovely pool- did I mention they have three huge pools? The kids equipment and the pools were partly shaded.
The only negative would be it's farther out of town- so extra activities take a little more effort.
