What People are saying

Better the second time

Craig Hon 23/06/2017 13:52

If your old enough to remember Gilligan’s Island then this motel is what I imagine it would be like.
Thankful to have spent another trip here. Unfortunately for business but still a very relaxing peaceful place to stay.
I want to come back for a week’s holiday and escape the from the world in this place..

Peaceful and Relaxing

Spent two nights here on business travel,
Not an easy place to get to driving, the road in is a bit rough. Maybe a more pleasant ride by boat.
But if you want to escape from the world this is the place to do it. You can drop off the grid totally or still keep in contact if you have to, best of both worlds.
I liked the thatched bungalow for their simplicity, I found the rooms clean and tidy. I could easily spend a week here just chilling. The veranda with the lagoon aspect was delightful after a long day.
The meals at the restaurant were good and the staff very friendly and accommodating.

Lovely spot

We had 2 nights here in September. Very nice villas and fantastic location.
Great place for children and swing on the beach was a hit.
Great swimming and snorkelling.
Restaurant meals were very nice but maybe overpriced.
We were there midweek and the prices were much better than weekends.

Location is amazing but food is average....

We visited for lunch while on a 4x4 tour of the Southern Province. The location is amazing - right on the beach. It is very remote, and feels like paradise. However, the food was very average, with overcooked tuna and pieces of shell in the lobster salad. There are quite a few semi-feral cats here too which would put some people off - they even came into the restaurant. We probably wouldn't go back unfortunately.

Location = paradise .... But

Went there for lunch. Pre-booked and tried to order a seafood plater but they are not doing them anymore. They offer a plate of the sea instead. Ordered 3x for the sunday lunch. Unfortunately dogs even small ones are not allowed which is a shame as it can be part of a great family outing.
The drive to the ecolodge is just breathtaking but quite long. You need about 2,5 hours to get there.
We arrived on time and were taken to our table by a friendly staff. The table was happily situated on the terrasse under a tree just above the beach.
They reconfirmed the order of the seafood plates and took our order for drinks.
The pre-drinks had barely been served when the seafood plates were also served. What a rush!!!!!
We guzzelled our drinks and ordered some wine. The choice is quite limited.
The plate was nice but could definately be better. There was a fish salad (nice), a trochus shell salad (nice but grossely cut and a bit bland), 3 x prawns, a very small bug and half a small lobster (both had been frozen and not cleaned of the "mustard")
The plate was 5.600 cfp about 55 usd which is very expensive compared to what you can get from a real seafood platter in town
For dessert we had a nice coconut panacotta
The drive home was pleasant as we went through a different route
I am not sure I would go back unless with my picnic
