What People are saying

Good combination of business and culture

Very relaxed big sized rooms. Superb Japanese traditional style 'onsen' in the the premises. They have a great banquet centre and restaurants. Very nearby to the railway station. Nice Japanese massage services also on campus.

A fantastic base between Nara & Mt Yoshinoyama

KoolTanon 08/05/2014 06:49

On this trip, we wanted to straddle the hanami sites of Kyoto/Nara and Yoshinoyama (mountain with 30,000 cherry trees). Problem was finding a hotel base convenient to Nara, yet close enough to Yoshinoyama. As it turns out, visitors taking the Kintetsu trains from Kyoto & Nara have to switch train tracks for the dedicated Yoshino line at Kashiharajingumae Station. Which happens to be literally at the doorstep of the Kashihara Royal Hotel.

Although it's an old property, the level of service was outstanding. Efficient check-in, good choice of in-hotel and nearby local restaurants, clean & safe. We even tried the basement level onsen which was our first introduction to traditional Japanese hotspring "therapy". Especially after a long day chasing Nara deer or climbing up Yoshinoyama in the cold, it is something we'd highly recommend to newbies. Just remember to learn about onsen etiquette rules (readily available online).

Pretty outdated design

the only comment I will make is the scary Charcoal which hang over the room, the room i have is western style.
when I entered the room, in front of me is a row of Charcoal hanging besides TV, and another row of Charcoal hanging beside the refrigerator. maybe the purpose is to eliminate the odor and moist, but it is very scary!

Work Function held at The Kashihara Royal Hotel

I recently went to a party which was held at the Kashihara Royal Hotel. I live in Japan, and I am a vegan so I am used to either bringing my own food, or eating a plain salad or rice. However, one of my colleagues called the hotel to tell them of my requirements, and they couldn`t have been more helpful, not to mention imaginative with their offering! Very considerate and conscientious, the wait staff made sure to check everything was ok on each course. The hotel itself was very nice inside too, and the door staff were wonderful. We were made to feel very welcome and special indeed. This seems a hotel where people go out of their way to offer a fantastic service. I`ll definitely be recommending it to family and friends.

Very Royal

I had stayed here some years ago and I was not disappointed this time. The hotel is spacious and well appointed. The staff are very efficient. I could not work out who the clientele were. The foyer had its own Souvenir Shop and Bridal Salon. It looks like it could be a wedding venue hotel. The spa on the basement level was excellent. I only wish I had discovered it sooner. What a relaxing way to commence the day. All the toieltries were provided and the environment was discrete and relaxing. The hotel rooms were Japanese style on our floor. I seem to recall Western beds last time. Maybe it was just the selection were were given. I would have preferred the western style beds. The bathroom is small which is why I wish I had gone down to the spa on the first evening. If you didnt know what to do, it would not have been clear that there was one down there.
All in all, it is a short walk to the staton and very nicely appointed. The breakfast bufffet was extensive and served in a nice dining room.
