Off the beaten track, tattoo friendly Onsen
Govin Ron 03/07/2017 03:19It is in the middle of no where and you have to take one Shinkanzen, 2 trains and a bus to get there but it was well worth it. I will surely come back here again. From the time we stepped in the door till the time we said goodbye, all of our needs were taken care off. Obviously we came here to relax and for the hot spring which was fantastic by the way and they also allow tattooed people to use the private baths. SO all tattooed people are welcomed here. Exploring around the area was great. There are free bicycles to rent that can be used to cycle up and down the mountain. There are a few good restaurants to eat around the area. One thing is that everything closes early so make sure you have stocked up on food just in case you get hungry at night. If you want to explore the trails around, make sure you ask for a bell to ward off bears.We will surely come back here. and maybe stay a little longer this time.

Ohai Oon 20/06/2017 09:33Lovely traditional style room and very friendly and accommodating staff. The onsen was very relaxing and the food was excellent. We'd definitely recommend kashiwaya ryokan if you are looking for this kind of experience.

I found this place because I was looking for a tattoo-friendly one. Very relaxing and serene out there and not only that, but both the dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff were all very friendly and I would love to come back again one day!

Gigi Ion 05/06/2017 00:54Myself and 2 friends found this ryokan online after searching for a tattoo friendly onsen. The three of us have never been so relaxed and well taken care of. The food was amazing, the baths were extremely relaxing and the staff could not have been more helpful. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in Japan.

Formacndon 04/06/2017 22:45This traditional inn offers a nice view into Japanese culture for the weary traveler.The service is excellent and the food delicious.We only stayed one night but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hot baths are fantastic after a hike in the mountains and should not be missed.
I highly recommend this small well run establishment.
