This is a very straight forward budget hostel with kitchen, dining room, reading room and lounge. On arrival we did have to figure out how to get in as reception is not staffed and you have to call on a phone but as soon as we were in we had everything we needed and a door code for easy access to the building. The rooms are simple but clean, the showers were also ok but not many so if it was busy I can imagine ques forming. The manager was very friendly and helpful once we were in and there is off street parking for 5-6 cars. Definite reccomendation for those on a budget

Deonne, who seems nice but clearly isnt took bookings for myself and my family
in May but when we didnt arrive she proceeded to clean out our travelers visa card with 3× $79 worth of charges without my knowledge.They promised to get back to us and never gave us a cent back.Beware these are extremely dishonest people, stay away.Furious.

I've stayed at the Katoomba Mountain Lodge a number of times. I would only recommend it as a last resort for all of the blue mountains as that's what I use it for.
Every time I've stayed I've had some sort of hassle. I've been double charged for a room before, I've had the wrong dates booked (on their end) and this time I arrived at 4:45 to no one in reception. After ringing the number on the wall I was told someone would be down in 5 minutes. I called them back 15 minutes later to be told they'll be another few minutes. Collectively I spent over 40 minutes in the reception alone until someone finally came out. After having driven 7 hours I was not impressed. Then they tried to charge me $198 for a room I booked at a rate of $99, when questioned they asked if I was paying with a credit card. I said no so they charged me $99 and went on about a credit card surcharge. A $99 credit card surcharge?
Beds are uncomfortable, there's OH&S hazards all over the building, rooms aren't adequately heated during winter and the beds are ridiculously uncomfortable.

The motel is old but very well maintained. I stayed in a single room and had shared bathroom/toilet facilities. On arrival, Angus was very helpful, explained the motel, my room, internet and facilities. My bedding was crisp, clean and the bed although small was a delight. The common eating areas and cooking facilities, bathrooms and toilets were always clean. I liked this place - it was very good comfort and value for money. I would recommend it and I will stay again.

$65 for the night before we headed off on our hike. Location is fantastic backs onto the Main Street of Katoomba. Bed was not comfortable at all. Communal showers and toilets, all around clean good location.
