All-inclusive hotel
Mawi Son 07/08/2017 05:34Duration of stay: 2 nights (June 2017)
Room: Room 909
Among the hotels that I have stayed in, Kensington Flora Hotel in Pyeongchang was by far the most charming one for me. It has everything: glamping spot, animal farm, maze garden, observatory, swimming pool, cute river, etc. The hotel is located near Odaesan Mountain. I recommend you to walk by the garden at night for a scenic view and dramatic feel. Also, the lobby was so spacious and classy! Since Pyeongchang is the host for the 2018 Olympics, there's an exhibit related to Olympics' history and fun facts in the lobby.
classy and comfortable
cristineafon 30/03/2017 19:18The temperature dropped to -16 when we visited, but we had a very comfortable night. The room was spacious and the bathroom had a tub. The heated floors also felt so good that you would rather sleep on that instead of the bed on a winter night! Their breakfast was also great and they have a nice view of a mountain and what seemed like a lake (too bad the pool was frozen when we visited, though). The only downside is that they do not have the usual sockets and you have to pay if you forgot to bring an adaptor. Nonetheless, it's still the best hotel I stayed at during my stay in their country.
Great ondol-room experience
artsypoon 06/03/2017 05:37I stayed in this hotel last September 2016 during a school event. I stayed with some friends and we got the room with ondol system on it. So basically the floor is really warm and comfortable to sleep on even just with a quite-thick mattress and blanket. It was a whole new experience for me!
When I first stepped into the hotel, it already gives a luxury vibes. With great chandelier, well-groomed staffs, and you can also see like a "mini olympic museum" around the lobby area where they put some medals, photos, and gifts about olympic events held in Korea back then.
Then I go to the room but sadly they have not prepared it yet. So it was pretty messy inside, just like somebody just checked out from the room. We tried to call the receptionist and the response was fast. They immediately move our room to the higher level. Thanks!
The room itself is spacious enough and clean. Typically Korean traditional house. They gave us 3 mattresses and 3 blankets. You might never imagine that sleeping on a warm floor with just a blanket and a mattress is comfortable, but it actually is! It was definitely an awesome experience. If you wake up early you definitely have to look around the hotel from the balcony because the morning view is magnificent even though it was foggy.
Since i woke up late and I had to check out early, I did not get to ate the breakfast but some of my friends told me that the breakfast was really great and delicious. Overall, it was a really great stay.
Luxury Hotel
LiketoeatCincinnation 29/10/2016 02:33This is a nice luxury hotel near a National Park and near the upcoming Olympic area. This place was pretty full with tourists enjoying the fall season, and with a large group of Olympians who were doing pre-inspections. Make sure that you book the breakfast upon making the room reservation, since it can be very expensive otherwise. Also, the breakfast is wonderful with full American, European and Korean offerings. If you want a bed, then choose the upgrade room or you will be sleeping on floor mats.
Very Grand Hotel
Groundnutson 23/10/2016 16:08It's a French theme hotel and the interior walls are most of them white. Huge and a very grand lobby and presently there a lot of Olympics exhibits. There's also a children's play area on the second floor. I stayed only for one nite and went out in the the nite to explore its big outdoor gardens. They lighted up the gardens so nicely during our stay. In addition to rooms, they also operates camp sites and saw a lot of Koreans BBQ their food outside their tents. It's a waste I only stayed a nite. Rooms were a little old and the bathroom has a bathtub. The while place is so peaceful and I will go back again if there's a chance.
