Decent hotel but not well maintained

It's definitely not a resort but a budget hotel. We booked the royal suite but it was far from a premium room. The room was big but the view wasn't great. The hotel isn't well maintained, with leftover bottles etc lying near the steps leading to the terrace. The terrace was also non operational, they closed the bar in the hotel as well. The food isn't great either (but pretty reasonably priced and quantity is good) and no buffet breakfast, you can order breakfast from a set menu of paratha, sandwiches, omlette, bhatura, juice, tea, coffee, if your breakfast is included in the package (paratha, chana bhatura was good though). The staff was courteous though. But definitely would not go again as the hotel is far from kasauli, chail and Shimla.

If you cross Chandigarh and go on the Himalayan Expressway, you have a lot of options to go like Kasauli, Shimla, Chail, Solan and so on......but there are some places which are nor here and nor there...if you are still trying to understand what I mean , I am trying to describe the location of Kenwood Resort.
When I was looking up on this resort on net it said 20kms away from Kasauli, the big mistake I made is that I forgot 20KMs mountain driving is very tiring and slow , so to reach kasauli from Kenwood it would take you around 1.5 hours and to shimla or chail it would take you anywhere between 2.5 to 3 hours.
The resort itself is ok ...nothing great, basic amenities are there but nothing to recreate yourself, food is good , staff is good and they help you a lot.
If you are going by your own car, you will find your car wipers up every morning which means that someone has cleaned it however the car would not be cleaned till the last day of your stay when the car cleaning guy will walk upto you and ask for a hefty tip.
Avoid this resort if you find any thing else in kasauli .

Visited the property over the weekend. Nothing close to a hotel. A place only worth stopping by if you are on your way to Chail or Shimla. Quite close to Kasauli, this place saved us from the hustle and bustle of Kasauli yet there was nothing to keep guests engaged inside. There were some gymnasium equipments (couple of them) and a carrom board on the 3rd floor where we were allotted rooms. The moment we entered from the lift, we saw three split AC machines along with their outdoor units lying on the right making it look quite clumpsy. Inside our room the fan wasnt working. We had to call a couple of times to get it right. A tile in the bathroom had chipped off making it look slightly shabby. The tap in the washbasin was leaking the moment you opened it. So you will realise that there was nothing which was earth shattering yet these werent qualities you would like to have in a resort where you choose to go just to get away from these regular problems at home. The complimentary breakfast is served in your rooms as the resturant is frequented by passer bys and are open to parties for locals. The first day we arrived, we were advised to have lunch in our rooms since a full fledged party was going on in the resturant. Staff were nice and polite yet one chose to inform us that we had over-ordered our breakfast since it was complimentary. The idea of having a buffet breakfast was certainly not very well understood here. Food was reasonable just like other resturants in the vicinity.Rooms were quite small and unimpressive but all the essential furniture were there.

Nice place but the location is a bit underwhelming

The resort is clean and spacious, the staff is helpful but if you are looking for a holiday stay - this might be a bit of a let down. The traffic passes by all day long and since the place is right on the main road, this continues at night too. Else, everything is fine.

Decent property, good food and good service. Convenient location.

Good food.
Location on main highway, hence noisy.
Next to Savoy Greens, so a lot of convenience.
Big rooms, clean and professionally run.

Location is such that you can explore Kasauli, Solan and Chail conveniently.
