Branded Rock Canyon
Carol Hon 03/06/2017 21:18Formerly Kessler Canyon, now privately owned and renamed Branded Rock Canyon.
Our family of ten were lucky enough to be invited to stay by the owners. What a treat! The Lodge is full of western art and the grounds are gorgeous. We had the place all to ourselves and felt like Rockerfellers! We had so much fun and enjoyed the Canyon and property so much. We hiked, and canoed, and paddleboarded, fished and even fed the fish in the upper ponds. Rich, Amie, Ari and Dan made sure we had the time of our lives and took us four-wheeling and target shooting and led us on explorations and picnicking. The children rode their bikes and played in the creek for hours. The weather was perfect every day. All of our meals were included and at the end of the day we relaxed by the fire. The lodge is First class all the way and the grounds are stunning. In short----it was glorious. We already making plans for next year.
Cherry on top!
Chelsea Gon 08/11/2016 01:34I am remiss in not posting this sooner. We spent 4 nights at the property in September to top off a 3 week trip out west for my husband's 70th birthday. We have been Marriott rewards members for many years. My husband found this on line several years ago and kept it in mind for 'some day.' The only other couple there left the next day and we were then the only guests in this spectacular place as it was before hunting season and they weren't busy. We weren't sure we would enjoy being the only guests and thought it might be too quiet, but that thought quickly faded. Our every need was catered to, but this property is so well appointed, you want for nothing more. The rooms are quite large and nicely appointed. After breakfast, we spent our mornings out by the fireplace and after lunch, we hiked, road bikes and my husband went shooting. We had the pleasure of having two chefs as Andrew was soon leaving to go to LA and George was transitioning in. How wonderful to have two private chefs! The food was fantastic in both taste and presentation. They told us that we would eat whenever we wanted to and that we were there to relax. The artwork and furnishings, both Native American and African, are exquisite and there is something new to notice each time you walk into a room. Although it is very richly appointed, it has a very homey and warm feeling. I made it a point to sit in every unusual chair in every room. I just kept saying that it was all so stunning. I can't say enough about the property and the staff who were all so gracious, welcoming and accommodating. It was by far the cherry on top of this trip and one of the most interesting and beautifully appointed properties we have ever stayed.
Fantastic Trip
decase5on 21/10/2016 16:22This is our 2nd visit to Kessler Canyon. This trip was an elk hunt. Everything was great - the guide was awesome, Chef George made fantastic meals, room was lovely, views great - the whole staff is very accommodating. Special kudos to Jim and Kerri McKenzie - everything ran like clockwork. Bagged the trophy elk on the 2nd day of the hunt - Kerri made a recommendation to visit Grand Junction and wineries in Palisade - she was spot on. Had a great trip! Highly recommend.
Awesome views
Scott Jon 17/10/2016 09:08While visiting in Clifton Colorado my wife and I would go for drives everyday to find new places of interest to enjoy. After leaving the Collbran Cafe heading back to Palisade we decided to turn left and head toward DeBeque , we stopped at Subway there, a great place to eat , we continued west thru the town , we continued driving until we ran out of blacktop. There were no trespassing signs for each side of the road, we turned around , drove about 100 yards, looked to the North and saw these beautiful Kessler Canyon steel pillars, so we decided to continue in , the views were spectacular, their facility has 23,000 acres , great lodges, fishing, hunting, sporting shooting, and by looking at their website it appears to be quite spectacular. We were very impressed by the views and shear size and beauty of this place , we hope to come back and check it out again and spend the night, will have to give a more detailed review then, but we sure did get some great pictures driving in and out.
Like walking into another world
Michael Bon 26/09/2016 20:40From the minute we pulled in the driveway, we knew the articles and reviews we'd read were true. What a place! From the manicured grounds and contrasting rugged canyon walls to the outstanding food and service we had a wonderful, though too short, experience. We came for the bird hunting and fine dog work but met others there for the spa, mountain biking and trout fishing. The paintings, sculptures, and other Western art objects made entering every room and hallway seem like a stroll through a gallery. The staff was upbeat and so friendly and gave personal attention to each detail. This stay was worth every penny.
