Quiet part of Mt Desert Island to stay
Nellie Fon 03/05/2017 20:59Mount Desert Island isn't cheap but this place does offer a mid priced alternative the Asticou which is also in Northeast Harbor. It has the feel of a motel and I say that as a positive. It's quiet and everybody minds their own business. We ate breakfast at the hotel and was fine. Not fancy, just good solid food. The bed was comfortable & we had air conditioning as it was an unusually hot time there. The crowds stay in Bar Harbor. Those who want a quiet Maine experience should come to the Kimball Terrace Inn.
Great lodging in Northeast Harbor
Dagny123on 16/10/2016 19:37A nice, basic motel with spacious, spotless rooms, balconies with lovely Harbor views, and a friendly staff. Convenient to Acadia but without the crowds found in Bar Harbor. Would definitely recommend.
Adjacent restaurant ok (huge portions - we shared breakfast) but dinner not great.
Near Acadia National Park
fishermen66on 14/10/2016 20:06Nice and quiet away from the Bar Harbor area. Restaurant on location had a menu with the most selections I have ever seen. The meals we had there were very good.
Breakfast the fist morning were to big, second day we split one. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Not enough outlets and no frig.
Nice Place to Stay
Elizabeth Mon 13/10/2016 02:53We have stayed at Kimball Terrace before and each year have had a good experience. I made reservations and was glad I did because the place was full on the Fall weekend we visited. Nothing is fancy about this place but it comes at a fair price and it is a place to put your head when you want to go to sleep. As others have said, there are no little extras like coffee makers, ironing boards, refrigerators and the little things travelers have gotten used to in a motel room. And also, as others have mentioned, the WiFi is slower than slow. But, really, how long do you stay in your motel room when you aren't sleeping? The place is also clean to a fault! My only real beef with this place is the bathroom. If you are 70 years old, as I am, you really come to appreciate not having to sit on a toilet that is only 9 or so inches off the floor. Also, there isn't a grab bar in the whole bathroom. I would think that would be a law suit waiting to happen and they aren't that expensive to install! So, older people take notice!
Clean and quiet
lucky2324on 29/09/2016 00:34We stayed here for two nights. Room was clean and comfortable but nothing great. Wifi in the room was slow and no refrigerator in the room. The northeast harbor is right across the street. This part of the island is really quaint and slower paced than Bar Harbor. The restaurant attached was also just average.
