Fabulous find in the Cotswolds
law1992on 27/06/2017 23:08Staying on business whilst in the area - certainly beats any Marriott or holiday Inn!
10/10 from start to finish in this "boutique and elegant" hotel.
The staff were very welcoming and you were made to feel at home as soon as you walk in through the doors off the market square ( hotels location is truly stunning )
I had a small room to the rear of the property finished to a very high standard with views over the beer garden and cottages - very peaceful and quiet.
The room had everything that you would be needing including one of your 5 a day and ample amounts of tea and coffee.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to have a meal in the hotel due to prior arrangements but the breakfast with the fresh juices, breads, meat products was a great way to start the day - a real treat!
Overall this hotel is fantastic value for money and if your in the area would highly recommend staying or even popping in for afternoon tea which looked amazing.
Very good job by all and looking forward to visiting again soon. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
Expensive watering hole!
Rhys54on 20/06/2017 21:20We called in for a drink in the garden - and were staggered at the prices. These make London look like a bargain. £11.05 for a glass of rose! The rose, a sparkling water and a bottle of Peroni - well over £20. AVOID. Rip off prices.
Hotel with character
Stephen Oon 14/06/2017 08:54A lovely old cotswold hotel in the heart of Chipping Campden, all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is full of character with many original 16th and 17th century features, large ensuite bedrooms with nice antique furniture and comfortable beds. The 'Kings breakfast' is wonderful, we didn't need lunch on either day we stayed. Highly recommended, if you want a comfortable stay in relaxed surroundings with great food, check this out.
The afternoon tea was poor
nearLeekMolaxon 08/06/2017 17:30We called in for afternoon tea, and were really disappointed. The sandwiches were good quality but made with very thick bread. Oh dear! The rest of the scones and the cakes were ok but the Eton Mess, what a mess. It came in a jar with just thick cream and some strawberry.....something it wasn't even jam and then a tiny star of meringue on top. Top quality it was not! If you are going to the trouble of offering all that at least do it properly.
To top it all it was expensive for the poor quality and then there was a non negotiable 10% service charge. The furniture in the dining was well passed its use by date, it looked very tired. The place was empty when we arrived, I am not surprised if that is the best you can do.
Cosy Boutique Style Hotel
AdzzzPhotographyon 04/06/2017 12:26Visiting the Cotswolds we went to the Kings Hotel for dinner.
Monder decor with a country charm, with very friendly staff, we straight away felt at home here.
Service was quick, with a nice conversation with the person behind the bar as well who helped with our food recommendations.
Had some local beer.
Wasn't an unreasonable wait for food, which was very well presented and tasty.
Portions seemed to be on the smaller side, to what we are use to, but felt happy at the end of the meal & was full, so can not complain.
Nice location, staff & food - I think there are nicer places to eat, but then you would be paying more, & for what we were charged was very happy.
Hope to stay next time & try the hotel facilities.
