girlnyelmon 22/08/2017 04:57We booked this hotel the first night of a two week European vacation. Our check in was seamless and friendly. As Expedia VIP, we were offered breakfast at a reduced rate, but decided to pass. Our room was clean and comfortable. After a long day plus of traveling, from Seattle, we slept very snug in the bed, which felt just as grand as the pictures portray. The hotel was very quiet. One thing that stood out to me was that the bathroom had one American electrical outlet, which was very appreciated when I found I hadn't brought the extension part to my converter that goes in to the recessed outlets. The room had two complimentary bottles of water, and a plate of fresh fruit, that made a nice touch. I would be back in a heart beat if in the area.

Frodo1111on 20/08/2017 17:27We loved our stay here. Great location; a few blocks from main train station, 10min walk to Augustine's-Keller, 15min walk to Marienplatz. Ice machine in lobby! The double beds are actually connected (instead of being two singles pushed together). Friendly staff. Clean. Mini fridge in room to store drinks/food. Highly recommend!
City break
Colin Bon 16/08/2017 17:23We stayed here for a 7 day city break in Munich. The hotel is excellent all round. We found the staff very helpful and pleasant both on the reception and in the breakfast area. The room was a good size, very clean, with a decent shower and bathroom.
The hotel is well located for the city centre with about a 20 minute walk to Marienplatz. We also walked to the Deutsche Museum in about 35 minutes. It is 5 minutes walk from the train station, but there is no noise at all from the trains. The airport bus, which runs every 15 minutes also runs from just outside the train station. We used the train for a day trip to Salzburg, which cost 31 Euro return for 2 adults, and we caught the 10:00am direct train with return trains from Salzburg at 17:15, 19:15 and 21:15. We would recommend this hotel for its service, comfort, location and value for money.
Not much of a "Royal flair" for us...
SashaO2on 07/08/2017 16:08We stayed three nights. Two nights in a room that was fine and comfortable - air conditioner worked great and bed was comfy. If I had to give a separate review for these nights I'm still not sure whether or not I would go up in rating just because of the front desk service. They might have glanced up once and given a smile but they sure didn't seem to worry about giving Royal service. Cold and not very welcoming. The third night we switched rooms because my son stayed with us. Beds were hard as a rock - and for staying an extra night they gave us a room where they said the air conditioning was working fine even though it was not working like the first room we had. It was barely on but yet they insisted it was working. While they did give us a fan it was still a miserable night. Not impressed. If I had rated only on this night I would have given it Poor to terrible. Sorry King's Hotel but Royal service you are not.
Gem of a hotel very close to Munich HBF
boursinmacon 24/07/2017 18:02The staff was excellent and extremely helpful. The room was lovely, very clean and also green. At first we couldn't find the soap, but it was in dispensers, not tiny plastic bottles. The décor is very impressive and welcoming. We were thrilled to have our rooms available when we arrived at noon. It's a great downtown location at a very reasonable price.
Make time to visit the Augustiner beer garden a few blocks away. It's very charming, local with great food and atmosphere!
