So delighted with our room as had mega bathroom with great jacuzzi bath and fab balcony the size of a patio. We had a 3 course meal in the Rococo restaurant which is fine dining so we weren't expecting much on the plates but to our amazement every single course was totally fantastic, normal portion sizes with delicious food. We also had spa treatments which were carried out very professionally and we both loved our massages. We had got a groupon which was really great value,

Beef or Salmon

I was here for my friends wedding, it was okay. Yes the reception is lovely for the photos but the food was basic I know people decide on their own wedding package but it wasn't great.

After the wedding ceremony there was sandwiches, I took a bite out of a ham sandwich and it tasted sour. I stopped eating it and then smelt it, it was definitely gone off. I told the waitress she said she'd let the chef know but she kept coming out with plates of sandwiches. I was at the bar and I spoke to one of the managers she said she'd speak to the chef but never came to let me know the out come!

We went to the room for our dinner and all the tables were set up 10 per table. The waiters brought out the bread rolls and they were as hard on the outside. Then we got out mains option Beef, Salmon or Chicken. We all got our mains and on our table one bowl of vegetables, which was really mercenary as two people were missing from our table so it just about did us all. Then the waiting staff were offering more meat but no mention of any extra vegetables.

The trio of desserts arrived the cheese cake on the plate was not nice at all but thankfully the meringue and profiterole were.

I think if I was a foodie and getting married I would definitely not get married here as the food was absolutely average. The venue itself is nice and the rooms are a really good size and held 100 people nicely. I drink peroni and in two of the bars they didn't have any peroni glasses!

We celebrated a family 40th birthday for one night. A nice reception area and a spacious room were the best part of our stay. The breakfast was very good. I am marking down the rating because of the service. The service for dinner was very slow and the wrong desserts were given .

My family and I stayed in Knightsbrook on St Stephens Day , and despite the hotel looking really well and decorated nicely for the festivities, i would have to say that we were underwhelmed with our mini break.
The food wasn't great , the "steak" was full of fat , in fairness the staff offered replacements etc but the damage was done and I didn't fancy an alternative.
The next morning , breakfast was a mess , between waiting what seemed like an age to be seated ( by a quiet dour lady ) , to then finding that the buffet was quiet sparse , this was at 9.45 ???
Mostvof the staff , especially the front desk staff were very helpful ,
Given that Christmas was obviously a very busy time , perhaps we got Knightsbrook on a bad day ,

"Relaxing" night away

I recently visited with my husband on a Groupon deal that included dinner B&B. Food was lovely, room very nice with balcony. Have been to hotel before for weddings & events and decided to go back as we liked it so much. It was a Sunday night and there was music & craic in the bar. Also a lovely sunny day so had a few drinks in the outside terrace of the bar which was lovely. However we needed all this good stuff to distress after our visit to the spa which was far from relaxing! When we arrived, we put on our robes & filled in the forms as usual. I had opted for a facial as I was 11 weeks pregnant. I had already had a facial while pregnant so was not expecting any issues. It also says a little (p) beside treatments that are suitable in pregnancy. When the girl brought me in, she asked me if I was close to 12 weeks - I said no, just exactly 11. She said she would have to check with the head therapist as there might be a problem. She came back with another therapist who told me that they cannot do any treatments if customer is under 12 weeks pregnant. I asked why had I not being informed of this before and she kept saying that they cannot ask everyone who rings up to make an appointment if they are pregnant. I asked why it wasn't included in their spa menu and she just prattled off the same thing - that they cant be asking everyone who rings up. Meanwhile, my husband was booked in for a head massage - he only booked a treatment as I was booking one so we could relax together after. If I had known in advance, I could have left this night away for another week, or even not mentioned being pregnant, as I very much doubt putting on a few face masks would have any affect on the baby. The only thing I could get was a file & paint on my nails, which was not worth the bother. I then had to pay a fortune for treatments that we didn't even want!! my husband was not even shown where the thermal suites where...I'm assuming that I probably wouldn't have been allowed use them seen as I wasn't allowed do anything else! I think it would be helpful if your Spa menu clearly stated that no treatments are available if you are less than 12 weeks pregnant as it is totally misleading to people. I rechecked it later and nowhere does it say this. I left the spa much more stressed than when I went in and would not recommend it to anyone!
