Beyond my expectations! Staff nice, helpful, friendly. Hotel is clean, rooms cleaned and towels changed every day. Breakfast is great! Food in the restaurant is very good and authentic. Hotel has it's own beach, 5 min walk.

Gelendzhik is one of the best cities at the Black Sea in Russia. It is a better developed place in comparison with many others places - a lot of restaurants, hotels, bicycle roads etc.
Kompass Hotel is situated in about 15 minutes from the very center. It has a good service, not excellent. Rooms are with balconies, this is good for morning coffee.
In general you will be satisfied. But I can't say anything about speaking English there. Maybe if you call, you will know )

Good location on eastern side of the lake. Spacious and clean room. Staff were helpful and breakfast was fine with a variety of local food on offer. Parking was a bit of a struggle when busy but staff helpful. Great location for a morning stroll around the lake before the sun gets up. Free Internet and wifi.
