What People are saying

Great!

vernadettevillotaon 13/01/2016 03:14

We stayed there last Christmas (dec 24-27, 2015) and I must commend their service, great! They even exceeded our expectation as they even remind us regarding our tours and contact our tour guides personally, that's a plus points. The place is good as we stayed in one of their family rooms. If we come back TO Puerto Princesa again, I still choose Kookaburra. Excellent service at reasonable price! :) And thank you also TravelOnline for arranging this for us.

Quiet and Comfortable

mrskristineleeon 27/11/2015 13:16

The place was about 5-10 mins away from the airport, the room was comfortable, toilet/shower is clean and AC in good condition. Staff are accommodating as well.
They have free breakfast but their breakfast is okay for a petite person like me, but for people who have big appetite, it might not be sufficient.

We booked with them the accommodation and all the tour packages we had for the whole of our puerto princesa and el nido trip. They were the one's who organized everything from transportation to accommodation and tours.

Overall it was a good experience.

Hmm its okey

I'm with my friends and family.
10pax
4 rooms
November 11-13

The location is near the airport but one downside is that the room itself and the "breakfast". no hair dryer, aircon is not enough for 6pax room. The staff is not that friendly and accommodating. Very different from the reviews last 2012.

Quiet and Very clean!

It is what we were actually looking for! We don't want to spend too much on hotels but don't want to settle for less either. Kookaburra was exactly what we were looking for! There weren't any guest aside from us so it's like we rented the whole place to our selves! The place was very clean and quiet. What we were super happy about is how clean the bathrooms are. Yay! Wifi signal is bad tho, but that's fine :)

Hrmm... just ok

Koobaburra has a hotel transfer service and took us only about 8mins from the airport to the hotel. Upon arrival at the reception lobby, they served us a welcome drink of orange juice (u can taste its from a powdered concentrate), hope they just offered us a cold bottled water.

The two Family suite rooms are located at the 3rd/last floor of the hotel, no elevator. There’s a sea view from the terrace of the floor. Room is spacious, maybe can accommodate extra beds for extra persons, and have cabinet provisions for stuff. Beds, pillows & sheets are clean and comfortable. Air condition is ok and working even theres power shortage in the area. They have separate toilet & bath area, no toilet bidet, toiletries are provided, hot shower not working properly. Cable is not working when there’s a weak power supply and fone signal may be weak as well. U can tell that theres not much guests as we hardly see people, and u can see dusts in the room and bathroom, maybe our room hasn’t been occupied for a week.

They have a hotel restaurant but they don’t have much menu to offer as they don’t have much food stocks. Free breakfast but same 2 choices for 2 mornings (longsilog/danggit silog), on 3rd morning offered only a tough pork tapa. Theyre not even equipped for take away supplies if u plan to order packed meals, and not much variety of choices of drinks either. They have separate restaurant & bar (Outback restobar) at the back area of the hotel but I didn’t see people going there.

Hotel is along the road and not far from the main town proper (10mins away). U can get tricycle (local tuktuk version) and can take u to town from Php10-Php15/person depending on distance. Hotel can make arrangements for ur tours. Tour agencies wud pick u up by shuttle vans and bring u back to the hotel after the tour so I don’t think the location or going & getting back to the hotel can be a major concern. If u decide to go out at night to eat or explore the city, its not hard to get back at the hotel, just take the tricycle and ask to bring u to Kookaburra or tell them it’s the hotel near the Pristine Beach Resort.

Staff are ok, they try to be nice & helpful with anything, but sometimes u can see them frown or make face when u tell them a misunderstanding, and they wud even insist what they heard rather than apologized for the misunderstanding.

Kookaburra is about mid-range but basic. Can be an ok place to stay since u wud just be out most of the time for ur tours, but not highly recommended. I stayed in a hostel (in Puerto Princesa) after I returned back from El Nido, which I had better experience.
