We stay 1 night here, room is clean and size is fit.
Can enjoy Onsen both indoor and outdoor.
Have a little shop with many local snacks.
Reasonable price, include Dinner and Breakfast buffet.
Highly recommend for couple and family without too high expection.

An excellent Ruokan experience

We thoroughly enjoyed this local Ryokan hotel, especially the wide range of local food and the hot baths experience. The hotel is well designed to cater for individuals or large groups. The room is spacious, well designed and well lit. Many drinks dispenser along corridors. Both breakfast and the dinner buffet cater well to locals and overseas visitors, with a wide variety of fresh food including crabs and steak. The hot baths provide an option for indoor or outdoor experience. Having visited a number of Ryokans in the last 6 years in different parts of japan, I comment this hotel management for a great job, in ensuring comfort and quality experience to guests.

A well-run hotel with ryokan features.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Kurobe Kanko Hotel on our way to the Alpine route and Kanazawa. The hotel is a short bus ride from Shinano Omachi town and is set in a large cluster of hotels which has been developed for travelers using the Alpine route. Unless the weather is really bad do not waste your money on a taxi as the bus will suffice. The rooms are large and spacious and are laid out with tatami mats. There was a heavy cigarette smoke smell in the corridor which appears to be a major problem in most Japanese hotels. The two onsens for males and females are of adequate size with outdoor pools but there were quite a few outside users from neighbouring hotels using the onsens. Dinner and breakfast are served in a large cavernous banquet room. There was a great variety of seafood, meats and Japanese produce. No complaints about the food but at dinner there appeared to be tour groups from nearby hotels enjoying the spread too, Breakfast tended to be a more subdued affair with only hotels guests present. Front desk service was superb and the staff went out of their way to answer our questions despite some problems with their English. We took the bus back to Omachi the next day and to visit the Omachi Alpine Museum. It is a small museum withich has great exhibits about the flora and fauna of the Japanese northern alps. Great view of the alps and Omachi town from the museum. The museum is a vigorous 40 minute walk up the hill from the town centre. The next day our luggage was sent to our hotel in Toyama and we enjoyed the Alpine route with only our backpacks.

Great Japanese Ryokan with Onsen inside

We stayed for one night and it was nice. The rooms are large which is nice. And very close to the bus stop. They have a decent buffet for dinner and breakfast. The Onsen switches morning and night so one can use both sides.

The town is quite small so one can walk to most places with in 15-20mins. It's a nice place for a short stay.

Beautiful hot springs (onsen), great local food

I stayed here while on a family tour through the Kurobe region of Japan. I loved this hotel and it's regional charm! The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent - I loved trying Hirame (grated Japanese mountain yam) for breakfast. The dinner options were also extensive, with fresh tempura and grilled steak made to order. There were also lots of vegetables, pickled goods, and a variety of sashimi/sushi. The indoor and outdoor onsens were wonderful to use as well - the facilities were very nice and I enjoyed the skincare/body products that were available in the dressing rooms. It was also fun to sleep on the tatami, which was much more comfortable than expected. All in all, I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area. I hope to come back soon!
