Nicest people ever!
LCleggleson 17/07/2017 00:28We stayed at Kyoya Ryokan for one night on July 10th whilst we were in town for the Sumo tournament. The place was lovely, clean and peaceful and the people who worked there, particularly the older man and the lady in her 30s, were delightful. The breakfast was delicious. Having never stayed in a Ryokan before we weren't sure what to expect but it was very 'zen' and relaxing. Would highly recommend!

Becca Aon 03/07/2017 13:06The Kyoya Ryokan was a surprising little haven in amongst a city atmosphere. The garden courtyard was pretty providing a peaceful sanctuary. the room was spacious and well appointed with facilities for tea (green) and coffee making. The communal Japanese bath was fun... if a little hot. The special traditional Japanese breakfast (purchased extra $$$) was a lovely cultural experience. the WiFi was fast and continuous.
We walked 20 min from the central station there (smooth streets to roll large suitcases on) but on another day took a bus to the station (5 min walk to bus).
Excellent place. Clean, comfortable, amazing service.
halcykonon 06/06/2017 20:19Staff was very friendly. They even have free bike rentals for guests, which was a great way to see the city. A beautiful place to experience a ryokan for an affordable price. The onsens were amazing, and well maintained.

Xavi Son 26/05/2017 02:51We stayed one night, enjoyed the futon (really comfortable for a futon bed type), the onsen is really nice, the traditional breakfast is really good (but there's no continental breakfast option)and the recepcionist Hiroshi is very nice.
Stay here. Just book it!

The space was really nice, the host (Hiro-san) was delightful, excellent amenities, comfortable beds, very enjoyable onsen, and my favorite was the free bicycle usage! I'm in my 30s, an avid traveler and hostel user, and it was very appropriate accommodation to stay in the small three-person community style section of the ryokan. It's in a good location and you won't be disappointed with your choice of staying here.
