Monaco GP

Positives:
1. Rooms: spacious and clean. I had a balcony which looked over the pool which was a decent size.
2. Facilities: the pool is not heated but it didn't matter. It was clean and had no evidence of greenness. The grass around the pool was well looked after. Plenty of area to lay back and relax. There is a gym and bar.
3. Staff: lovely and welcoming.
4. Restaurant: very good food and wine. Was expensive but worth paying.
5. Location: close to Nice.
Negatives:
1. Breakfast: it appears that the scrambled eggs had been cooked the night before and reheated in the morning. The bottom of the eggs were burnt and mixed through.
Would stay at hotel again

bilalshah2017on 02/05/2017 10:10I stayed in a suite at the Promotel with my kids. We loved it. Good proximity to Nice and great facilities, especially the swimming pool. Parking was ample, a prerequisite for roadtrip. The staff was also very helpful.
Middle of the road (literally).
5061756Con 04/12/2016 14:52Arrived to frindly staff on reception and quick check in. Then it was off to the room. Found the room was basic but ok. Best point was a kettle to make coffee in the morning. After a quick refresh it was off to the bar for a beer. Bar was quite busy with a lot of guests before heading off to the resturant for the 1930 opening. Followed the other guest into the resturant via the breakfast room. Menu was varied as well as a 'specials' list. Waitress and waiters were overwhelmed by the 1930 influx and were running around trying to keep up. Had a bit of a wait before ordering but despite that the food was very good. Headed off to the room and then started to hear the passing night traffic from the close by roads. Tried to sleep but the constant drone of traffix didn't help. Eventually managed to sleep to be woken around 0400 when a large truck drove past the hotel. The road noise from then on just started to slowly increase. Breakfast was fairly good and covered everything from bacon through to the standard cold selection. Would use again but would double check room position.
Great outside area, cheap for near Nice
crackers123on 05/08/2016 06:46The hotel does look somewhat dated on the outside ( maybe just by UK standards) but was a really good stay for us. It's 20 minutes from Nice and about half the price of a similar Nice hotel. Check-in was good, staff great and the room whilst not huge did have a balcony and excellent air con.WiFi was free and worked well all through the building. There's plenty of free parking, a nice looking restaurant ( we didn't eat there) and a McDonald's a ten minute walk away. What makes this hotel is the outside area which has a lovely big, if unheated, pool and seating. It felt like we were at the beach not by the side of the main road. You would need transport to get here so don't book this if you're backpacking. Rooms were clean, the shower excellent and the bed comfy. Overall, can't fault it.
Good place for the tired traveller
ronald2700on 31/07/2016 22:11The hotel in it self is all right, allthough somewhat outdated. The building and rooms need a paintjob. It looks pretty dark on the inside. The hotel has a wonderful garden, terrace and pool. The staff is quite helpfull and friendly. We didn't eat there so can't tell any thing about that aspect...
