Incredible place to stay
stuart pon 29/04/2016 11:07L'Antico Episcopio is such a wonderful B&B in Pontone, very close to Scala and Ravello. The host, Anna, is amazingly welcoming and obviously takes great pride in her home.
We were a group of 10 staying in 4 of the rooms, all of which were immaculately clean, and well laid out with all of the amenities you'd expect, plus the additional of fridge, sofa and jaw-dropping views. Beds are very comfortable.
The breakfast each morning was perfect. Coffee, tea, juice, breads, ham, cheese, jams, cereals, yoghurts, fruit and homemade cakes which were all delicious. And the table settings were very thoughtfully done.
Location of the B&B is great as a base for exploring Ravello, Scala and Amalfi (all are walking distance). Close to the road with free parking, and a lttle quieter that the busier towns around.
Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
Beautiful views but bad amentities
Gaby_L00on 19/01/2016 22:30My disclaimer here is that when we visited, the coast experienced a rare snowstorm. We were EXTREMELY COLD but all the heaters broke. On the last day the water tank stopped working so we no longer could even flush the toilets. They refused to give a refund. Aside from this I must say that the host was initially quite friendly and welcoming and the views were gorgeous.
My medievil castle retreat!
Diane Gon 01/09/2015 12:49I had the loveliest 4 days staying with Anna and her family at LĂntico Episcopio in Scala on the Amalfi Coast. The service was amazing - beautiful breakfast each morning and lemon chello and cake bought to me each evening. Anna is just beautiful - kind, thoughtful, thorough. The accommodation is set overlooking other castles and the sea, close to Ravello, Amalfi and amazing mountain treks. I would thoroughly recommend L'Antico Episcopio as authentic good value.
Utterly beautiful
538Lucyon 05/05/2014 11:36Wow! This place is gorgeous. Anna has wonderful taste and has done the place up beautifully. The room was beautiful, spotless. Breakfast was wonderful - great cappuccino, delicious food. The view from the room just amazing. Pontone is a really wonderful place to stay, utterly charming.

windirosaon 20/10/2013 18:33L'Antico Episcopio is a small, beautiful hotel in the idyllic medieval village of Pontone in the hills above Amalfi. A cleverly converted Bishop's Palace, the rooms are spotless with modern
bathrooms and mine had a stunning view over the lemon groves down to Amalfi. There is also a solarium with the same stunning views. Signora Anna and her family are extremely welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit from the garden, home-made bread and cakes and the most delicious crushed sweet lemons served in a little cup with a spoon. You can reach Pontone by bus from Amalfi. A walker's paradise, you can reach Ravello, Scala and Amalfi from here. Being up on the hill there are steps, of course, but well worth the effort to discover this tranquil place.
