Ideal quiet break
Tim Son 16/09/2016 19:56A beautiful view of the old bastide, great food and a pleasant if slightly quirky room. For some reason the loo has been placed right against the wall, and the two chairs in the room were metal garden chairs. Great dining experience though, and will definitely go back.
Delicious food. Clean toilets.
ScrimperLeoon 31/08/2016 12:02A lovely setting and delicious food that parents and children alike enjoyed.
As an added bonus: the toilets were spotlessly clean.
We only came here for lunch but I'm tempted to use it as an over-night stay in the future.
Lovely country location
grahamdavidon 08/08/2016 22:27An attractive old country inn which serves good fresh food. The rooms are modern and practical rather than luxurious. Our room was very clean and reasonably large. The drawbacks were the lack of air-con and a double bed that was on the small size - so it felt a bit hot during the summer night. We had perfectly pleasant breakfasts and an evening meal on the terrace under the grapevine as the sun set on the medieval village nearby. It's a good location for touring the location and prices were and value were good too.
The worst service in a 3 week tour of France
Philip Aon 04/07/2016 22:02We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel as being a Monday it was open. The food was at best average the service appalling. 3 hours to serve 2 courses. Dining outside on a lovely evening when a brief shower caused total chaos. The one waitress just lost the plot. The Auberge has accommodation and it would appear the residents all wished to eat in the restaurant. Please consider before making a reservation.
Worth 15 Minutes
Rowbearon 25/09/2015 18:19The room was sparse, Soviet Modern, but one could say less is more. It was clean with a nicely decorated bed, but if you are over 5'7", it is like sleeping in Snow White's bed. Short! The hair dryer only worked on low speed.....very slow. Security (?) !!! The hooks to the outside shutters fell off while we attempted to fasten it.....meaning you could easily enter from outside. The red wine we had on the terrace while viewing the historic Larressingle was expensive plonk which ruined the experience. But, the olives served with it were superior, so we looked forward to dinner. Unfortunately, it was like being in a US high school cafeteria at noon. The serving staff almost had to shout over the obnoxious Americans and Brits at nearby tables who don't subscribe to the gentile manner of dining in a French restaurant. Not the fault of the owner, but we should have left the dining room before ordering. Especially with what was to follow. The salad was delicious, but the pork from the region was the worst we ever had. The poor pig must have walked the Camino de Santiago, because he certainly got toughened up. Back in our room, our hallway was filled with noisy guests until late in the evening, and someone was knocking on doors at the crack of dawn. Why would anyone stay here when there are better choices for accommodations a few kilometers away?
