Lovely hotel but why do you have to pay extra for spa

This is not a cheap hotel to stay at it is in fact one of the best in Saint Martin. When we are paying over £120 a night for a room with no meals included .I didn't expect to have to pay £69 per person to use the spa.I have stayed at many top hotel before and the spa has been included and I have payed extra for treatment. On a plus side the staff were very friendly and attentive.Every night they turned down the bed and left a chocolate on our pillow

We visit every summer - a great place to stay

Perfectly located and owned by the sweetest family. The rooms are all individual and we have loved them all for different reasons. Most are spacious and all a stones throw from the main building. The staff are friendly and service orientated - nothing is too much for them - including calling a local shop to reserve some items I wanted to pick up later that month that I had admired on a previous trip. They recommend and book restaurants for you which is important as most get very booked up in St Martin. The gardens are gorgeous and breakfast on the terrace (should the sun be shining) heavenly.

Perfectly situated, beautiful rooms, friendly reception - great base for St Martin

First visit to il de re, and this was a lovely hotel at which to stay. Friendly staff, large and elegant rooms, easy parking. Comfy beds, good bathrooms - difficult to find fault with any of that.

Two obvious downsides, charging 20€ for parking and about the same for breakfast. This latter is a really irritating aspect of French hotels, and here is no exception. Especially if all you want is coffee and a croissant. So, like many other reviewers, we went out, and a short walk across the port to a lovely bistro for coffee and croissant for about six euros for two of us

That aside, the hotel is lovely and perfectly situated - we would highly recommend and plan to return

An absolute gem

We stayed in two rooms at La Baronnie at the end of August for a long weekend from the UK. The location in St Martin is excellent and very quiet. My room (Pescalou) is easily the most beautiful hotel room I have ever stayed in. I adored the quirkiness of being in the eaves of the building, the wonderful upholstery and the floor to ceiling shutters overlooking the neighbouring buildings and rooves.

We opted to have breakfast in the hotel each day and the weather was good enough that we could eat on the terrace. Breakfast was plentiful and very good quality although it was perhaps a little pricey and it would have been nice for it to have been included in the room rate, as others have commented. That said, I would definitely return and think the hotel represents good value for money.

Very good but too many added extras that make it overpriced

The room was a reasonable size, a little cold (but not surprising given it's an old building). The bathroom was only separated by a curtain from the bedroom, which was unusual. The TV was small and too far away from the bed to be watched while lying down.
The breakfast really annoyed me and put me in a bad mood for the day! I thought €18 per person for breakfast extremely expensive, but when I discovered that you had to be pay even more to have eggs for breakfast, I felt it was an absolute rip-off! I mentioned it to the Manager who said they'e had similar feedback from other guests and would change in the future, however, that was not yet the case and any warm food for breakfast was between €2 and €8 extra on top of the €18. A disgrace!
