As wonderful as hoped!
Jenna Hon 17/07/2017 12:58Since it's renovation i have wanted to try Bastide de Gordes as it looked beautifully refurbished and in an idyllic location. I wasn't disappointed and it fully lived up to my expectations.
The hotel is in the picturesque village of Gordes in gorgeous old buildings creeping down the hill. The decor throughout was fabulous, even the lifts are worth seeing with their kitsch wall paper and mirrors. The service was impeccable, all staff were attentive and took care of our every need.
We at in their brasserie for lunch and found the food great, I had a Lobster Burger and my boyfriend had a Club Sandwich which were both very good. We also tried their Michelin Starred restaurant, Peir by Pierre Gagnaire, which we both thought should have two michelin stars rather than one. The prices of the a la carte menu were eye watering at around 80-95 euros for a starter and main and 60 euros for a dessert. We opted for the tasting menu which was good value and excellent.
Our room was small facing the village, as we had booked, but perfectly formed and very cosy. The decor again was superb, the bathroom gorgeous and lots of wardrobe space.
I cannot really fault it, we had a wonderful stay in this special hotel and would definitely go back and highly recommend it for a stay when in Provence.
Perfect Provence
Myf Bon 04/07/2017 18:29My husband and I stayed in the Vasarely suite in late June for 4 nights. To describe it as superb would be the world's largest understatement. The hotel for starters has the most unbelievable position on the cliffs of Gordes overlooking the Luberon Valley. At check in the staff would wonderful - friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. They confirmed our spa treatments and also booked our reservations for various dinners at the hotel.
The suite was beyond words but the best part was the terrace which had sparkling views of the Luberon Valley. The layout of the suite was wonderful and there is nothing that we would have wanted differently. The bed was the most comfortable that we have ever slept in!
We had breakfast every morning in La Citadelle and the buffet had everything and more. We ate lunch twice in L'Orangerie and the food, wine and service were all perfect. We also ate twice in La Citadelle for dinner and again, the food and service were absolutely first class and really made for a wonderful end of the day. The bar, that we generally visited both before and after dinner was delightful. The view is to die for and the staff were in keeping with the vibe of the hotel - incredibly friendly, professional and charming.
We also spent time in the spa and outdoor pool and the same adjectives would be used to describe both!
A particular call out to a number of staff - Nicolas as the GM was delightful and made an effort to check up on us every day. Elio and Jose defined what first class concierge is all about - fun, helpful, charming and a good reason to come back. Elio also made 2 excellent recommendations for dinner outside the hotel in more local French villages, both of which were great fun. Valentin at the pool area was superb and Victor in the bar was a delight. All in all, the staff made a first class hotel seem like home. We will most definitely be back.
Exceptional Top Notch Property
Stuart Hon 30/06/2017 20:53This is one of the most amazing hotels and villages in all of Europe. I've been lucky to go a lot of beautiful places and this is near the top. The beauty of the hotel and views of the Luberon valley are second to none. I would highly recommend staying here and promise that you will not be disappointed.
We stayed in a deluxe valley view room that had wonderful views. The room was quite luxurious and spared no amenities. The room was also very spacious and had an enormous bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable which is not always the case when traveling in Europe and is very important to me.
The heated pool is also in a stunning setting with great views of the valley. Valentin, who worked service at the pool, was on top of his job and deserves credit for his work. Give yourself a few hours and just go sit by the pool for a relaxing place to get away from it all.
All of the staff were very helpful and all needs were responded to within minutes. The service was as expected for a 5 star hotel.

The place is gorgeous and the chef made fantastic vegetarian gastro food .
Loved every little detail .
The concierge was ever so helpful
The town is very cute and lavender season it was so en route we completely enjoyed our journey
