What People are saying

Great value for money

We stayed at this hotel for one night over a long weekend in May. We had a family room with two separate bedrooms, a nice view over the village and surrounding valley, and a small but completely renovated bathroom. Everything was clean and new and the beds were comfortable. There was even air conditioning, although we didn't need it. The breakfast, at 8 euros a person, was delicious with fresh fruit, yogurts, cappuccino and pastries. The village of Mirmande is beautiful, as is the surrounding countryside. We'll definitely be back.

A truly special place!

We stayed two nights at la Capitelle in Mirmande and it was a highlight of our trip. Our room was built in the 16th century but was very charming and comfortable and had big windows opening onto a little stone balcony with expansive views of the countryside and mountains. We dined twice at the restaurant and the meal was superb each time. Sylvain is a gifted chef and each dish was interesting and carefully prepared to bring out the local flavors of the region. Breakfast was memorable as well: each table is loaded with breads, rich homemade yogurt and jams, fresh-squeezed apricot juice (a local product)...truly special. The dining room is in the 12th century portion of the building, charmingly arranged with a fireplace at one end and a big arch on the other, letting in the sun. We are surprised that Mirmande is not better known in the US. One of "the 100 prettiest villages in France," Mirmande is also a living breathing town of artisans and a few families. We loved walking up the steep lanes and stairways, with every turn revealing another picturesque scene. The town goes quite high, so the views are beautiful of the countryside and distant Rhone River/ Ardeche Mountains.

A hilltop gem

From a very friendly welcome at this family hotel, English spoken, to departure our one-night stay was very enjoyable. Very comfortable and well-appointed room with superb views over the valley with excellent wifi.
Dinner in a lovely vaulted dining room was very satisfactory followed by an outstanding breakfast - home-made yogurt demands 2nds - and assistance getting our large cases to the car, thoughtfully parked in a secure location off site. Highly recommended!

A great centre for touring the cote do Rhone vineyards and beautiful scenery

This is a classic hotel situated in a mediaeval village, perched high on a hillside, Great views, the proprietor/chef prepares great food . Both he and his wife are very personable and provide great service. They are both very helpful and amenable. In all we enjoyed our 2 night stay and would recommend it to travellers. The building dates back to the 11 th century and is full of character .

Don't be deceived

Beautiful location, views - let down by Poor quality hotel with nonchalant staff attitude.

should you ever feel need to complain - suggest you don't bother as it does not register.

Rooms dated - seventies decor - poorly planned - bathroom a death trap.
my life slipped in bathroom due to leaking shower. Response from hotel - shrugging of shoulders - no apologies or remorse.

When for Confort - Room unclean & dusty - view onto back yard. Asked for another room but none said to be available. But when we attended breakfast next morning not all tables taken?
