What People are saying

A Wonderful Location.

Castallajohnon 05/10/2016 11:24

We stopped 2 nights on a driving holiday of Italy mixing cities and rural retreats. It was so wonderful to relax, read our books and drink Chianti. We used it as a base through the day it was easy to reach Pisa, Lucca, Florence, and many other breathtaking places.
I had never been to Italy before but I'll be a regular visitor now. And I'll definitely be stopping at the Medioevale. The family are great. The rooms comfortable and the whole experience so relaxing. A must do.

... just felt like home.

It was the second time that we spent a couple of days at Casa Medioevale and definitely not the last time.
La Casa Medioevale is a wonderful Finca which is located in the charming vineyards, olive tree plantations and hills in the heart of the Tuscany.
The beautiful garden, the refreshing salty pool, the cosy room, our exhausting morning run everyday and the great view from the little church on top of the hill ... we fully enjoyed our stay, it was just amazing! Particularly the breakfast was a highlight and not to forget your great hospitality! We just felt like home!
Grazie mille, Filo and see you soon!

Two days of perfect relax

Spontaneously we stayed at "Casa Medioevale" to extend our stay in tuscany for another two nights. We only booked the day before and I can tell we were very happy and greatful for having discovered this location and experienced a super relaxed and comfort stay there.
We were welcomed by Alessandro who was very obliging. The first impression of the house was awesome. Apparently a quiet new built one combined with the typical tuscan charme of old, cozy furnishing and interior. The guest rooms are named after tuscan authors of the medieval. Each room has its own color device. We stayed in the ocean blue Francesco Petrarca room. The room itself was clean and offers a comfortable bed, aircondition, a TV, a cupboard with safe and pool-bag. The walls are covered with quotations (nice handwriting!) of Petrarca in italian and a drawing of this poet. The bathroom offers a bathtub, a toilet, a bidet and a sink. The windows are covered with fly screens.
The breakfast was typical italian: white bread, cake, cookies, scrambeled egg, tomatoes, fruit, juice, joghurt, coffee (any kind of coffee, on request also served twice). Perfect start for the day.
The pool area is nice and clean, there are a lot of sun loungers, sunshades and pretty white fabrics that spread a hint of caribbean flair.
In the evening you are offered the possibility to join the typical tuscan dinner. In our case a nice barbeque with "bistecca fiorentina" (don't miss this in tuscany!) and typical starters. Everything was delicious, especially the atmosphere sitting underneath the big pergola (again with white fabrics) was unique and classy.
The area offers some nice places with first-class lounges to sit and sun loungers to enjoy the tuscan sun. Typical tuscan plants complete the beautiful garden place.
Particularly we need to mention Filomena and her high motivated team. We felt perfectly housed anytime of our stay. Even at the pool we were asked if we wanted something to drink or eat. There is offered tea and cake during the day and any person working there is so kind, competent and yet kindly discreet. We experienced how much you care about your guests. You guys are doing a great work! Thanks a lot for that.
It was a pleasure to experience your hospitality and kindness, next time we will definetly stay longer.
Grazie mille per tutto e alla prossima

Outstanding atmosphere

Must do when in this area. This is a familyowned wine/olive-yard.
The family is very kind, outgoing and helpful. Every room has its own theme (known writer from Tuscany).
The atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing.
The breakfast is nice, always fresh-baked cakes. We recommend that you'll stay "in" for one night and try the dinner. (Must book in advance) Its Local food, either from the kitchen or the grill. Soo good!
Many nice travellers from different countries.

Great B&B

Stayed here 4 nights.
Friendly arrival, nice and clean room.
Filomena is very friendly, perfect host which will do everything to make it as comfortably as possible for you.
Breakfast is basic, according to Italian standard, but no complaints here. Every day new freshly baked pastry.
You have the possibility to dinner there in the evening (better to mention / request this in the morning) for a nice price / quality ratio. If you like wines, definitely mention it as Filomena has some nice pearls in her cellar for a reasonable small price.
Tip: She also sells olive oil from own olive trees ( nice balance bitterness /fruity).
Also good tips from her to eat cheap/typical Italian in city center.
Free (locked) parking available for car.
