Shame about the wifi.

Stayed here after Day 1 of the Tour du Mont Blanc.
Our room was comfortable and clean. The en-suite was tiny but the shower was okay. The bed was comfortable.
Dinner was okay - not great - but was a set menu as part of our half board.
Breakfast buffet was very good.
There was a wire hanging out of the ceiling in front of the door to our room which was a little unnerving.
There is free wifi - but it only really works in the foyer - and even then it is very slow.
I would have given 3.5 as a score of that was an option.

Lovely start to TMB tour

Our family of 3 stayed here two nights in early July, in the early stages of the Tour Mont Blanc trek. Our room was reasonably basic with a very small bathroom, but the hotel experience as a whole was excellent. Charming and helpful staff. Top breakfast and dinner options - some gourmet dishes. Nice little terrace and garden and they told me the pool would soon be open for the summer.
Good wifi too.

The rooms are clean but hot, with no air conditioning. They offer "free wifi" but good luck getting any reception anywhere. You cannot connect in your room, hallway, or even in the lounge. Staff are nice. Breakfast was good.

Great hotel, outstanding dinner

I stayed with my son for 2 nights and the room was spacious and well kept, service spot on. The dinner was really nice. Breakfast could improve a little but had a good variety on offer. Once swimming pool refurb is over, it will make it the perfect summer stay.

We stayed here for several nights as part of a tour group. The rooms were a good size (for Europe) and were very clean. The bathrooms are not big but 'adequate' for one person at a time - the best thing was that the hot water was hot and reliable.

The requested large double bed was actually two single beds pushed together (not that unusual) but there was no thin overlay (creating one bed) and only single bed linen/coverings were provided for each half of the bed (that was strange for us).

Dinners in the restaurant seemed genuinely "home" cooked and local, but we were surprised by the basic elements offered in some courses - hard to know what was negotiated by the tour operator but we noticed other tours had the same offerings during the week.

Breakfast had an excellent range of choices including hot offerings, but there were issues with the replenishment of food items and eating utensils - items often ran out and it seemed to take a while to replace items. They don't seem to prepare replenishment items before they are needed. This was a real issue in peak times resulting in lengthy waits.

The stand-out characteristic of this hotel is the staff in the restaurant - you get the sense they are challenged by processes and the level of staffing, but they go about their business in a very helpful, cheerful and charming way.

The advertised pool was not available. We understand that this has been the case for quite some time although there were works underway to remedy the situation.

The WiFi did not work for guests. At all. There were multiple faults with their setup ranging from access points which failed to connect to devices, to routers which connected but simply didn't provide any internet connectivity. The management didn't seemed motivated to act to remedy the situation while we were there - their secured network was working! We found the bar over the road useful in this respect and spent our Euros buying drinks there while accessing their excellent internet.

The bar area is comfortable - if only the WiFi worked.
