Excellent accomodations

Wonderful staff. Rustic but very comfortable accommodations. Food is great and a 3 min walk to the lovely village of Loro Ciuffena. Central to many Tuscan attractions. Definitely recommend. Highly recommend that you have a rental car to site see.

Great base for 25th anniversary forays into Tuscany!

We stayed in room 4 which is in the newer construction near the parking lot. It was super clean, really well constructed and decorated very quaintly. The whole property is absolutely beautiful including the pool (heated with changing area and chairs), and the tennis court. The bridge over the river by the waterfall and the sound of the waterfall all night long were awesome.

The restaurant is outstanding and their knowledge of wine and willingness to introduce you to their chef were really great.

The staff was amazingly helpful and accommodating to our needs. Thank you Claudio and Virginia!

My wife and I had a wonderful time here and would highly recommend it to anyone.

A real highlight of our trip to Itlay

It was tough to decide between 4 and 5 stars, because, this is not a luxury property, but it is truly a unique timeshare experience. First, the great stuff: the resort is located in an adorable Tuscan town, with beautiful old buildings and located on a rushing river with waterfalls. After a day of touring, we found ourselves very happy to return to our own small town each evening. We were a bit unhappy in advance that we had to do the half board that is required of those who use a timeshare to trade in. But as it turned out, this was a highlight. The food was local. plentiful and excellent. The dining room scene was intimate and friendly; it is where we got to know our fellow travellers and exchanged tips about everyone's daily adventures. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool area was a hike up to the top of the property, but is in a lovely setting and was just barely warm enough to go in when we were there in mid-May. We had already been travelling for a while when we arrived, so being able to use the laundry room was much appreciated.
The apartment itself was charming and perfectly adequate, We had no need to do any major cooking, but the kitchen was great for making our own coffee and tea and warming up leftovers for lunches.
The biggest issue for us was the constant cigarette smoking and how it seeped into our rooms. We often could not have our windows open or enjoy our cute patio because of the smoke. Even the owner often sat and smoked right under our windows, which seemed particularly inconsiderate. If only they would set up a separate outdoor smoking area a bit away from the rooms, this place would be ideal.
Others already have raised the other few things to be aware of -- the beds are not the most comfortable, you really do want to have a car so that you can explore the area, and there are lots of steep stairs (though you can probably get a more accessible room if you request it in advance).
Despite these drawbacks, I still have to give this place the full 5 stars. It is meticulously run and a super charming experience.

Honeymoon

We went to La Ferriera on our honeymoon so that we could explore Florence and the Tuscany area. Like other reviewers, I agree that the rooms at the resort are a bit outdated, but the service we received was excellent and we loved the food at the restaurant. Virginia at the front desk was very helpful with our planning of our day in Florence and where to find parking when we got into the city.

Had the best time on our honeymoon here great service great food great employees very helpful lots of things to do very close to Siena 50 minutes from Florence and right in the middle of Chianti with excellent wine tasting and food
