Fourth stay here and it keeps getting better
PennStateTim_24on 12/10/2015 20:11Stayed here for the fourth time. Place keeps getting better. The breakfast is great, the beds are great, the location is wonderful and the service is fantastic. jean Luc is a nice man and very helpful.
Second stay was as good as the first
PennStateTim_24on 16/02/2014 17:43Had some time in Europe while attending a meeting so I headed down to Normandy and to visit some WWII sites during the off season, Stayed at La Foulerie again and all was perfect just like it was a few years earlier. Warm welcome, clean bedroom and bathroom and a wonderful (typical) French breakfast. On top of this, visiting Normandy in December was quite nice as there were very few tourists and no traffic. I was limited on places to eat but this was not an issue as I could always find a marche/boulengerie/charcuterie to grab a quick bite.
Perfect overnight stay
MaaikeNLon 23/07/2013 07:44Perfect little charming b&b for a family overnight stay on our trip to the Vendee. We had booked the spacious 4p bedroom with own facilities (shower, toilet). Friendly owners and very good and fresh breakfast. Very quiet environment with lovely flowery garden. Also a lot of cats in the surroundings. Only tiny thing was that not all windows had curtains, which made it for our kids a bit difficult to fall asleep. But otherwise it was perfect! I would surely recommend this b&b!
Best trip ever we'll be back next year!
evans79on 17/08/2011 11:02We booked this B&B after our Gite fell through, after reading reviews on trip advisor i was very much looking forward to my stay, booking straight forward and After a telephone conversation with Jean Luc for directions we were able to find the B&B fairly easy from Caen.
On Arrival i was very pleased by the surroundings and how very peacefull it seemed, we were shown to our room and the room was very impresive very spaceouus and clean, we had fresh towels every day, breakfast every morning was superb fresh breads and jams just enough to start your day, the La Foulerie was ideally located to many attractions being a 40 min drive to most beaches and places of interest,
Having never being to France before i was pleasantly surprised and so was my family my son Zach enjoyed playing in the gardens and showed everyone his golfing talents, we were made to feel so welcome by Jean Luc and his wife Irene nothing was too much trouble and my son became very fond of them we have even decided to go back next year and hire their Gite and take some of my other family members back with me, so overall my holiday was relaxing and wonderful made that extra special with lovely hosts thank you so much we'll see you soon. Anyone looking to stay in Normandy pick this guest house you will not be dissapointed...
I keep thinking about our wonderful stay with La Fouleries.
artizanon 10/06/2011 17:07If you want a place that is truly the flavor of the French countryside, La Foulerie is it. I will return, it was my favorite experience and I have been to France countless times. We stayed there in June for three days and it was all we expected and more. Jean Luc is a gem! He is so welcoming, genuine, helpful and kind. From the minute we arrived, I felt at home there. With his wife, Irene, he has beautifully remodeled this 250 year old farmhouse. The rooms were VERY nice and you could tell that alot of thought went into every detail. I am a traveling artist and I painted the road leading into their gate, explored the Chateau of Balleroy, D-Day beaches and Bayeux. All within easy driving distance. Mt St Michel is also close. I plan to return.. with my art-traveling friends..again and again. Some helpful hints: -Enlarge a map of the area if you dont have GPS...and its easier to navigate the small country roads than you might think, keeping the highway numbers in mind. -Here's a picture of the dairy..good to know that the small road to La Foulerie is literally JUST before. There's a small sign on the corner...look low.. Plan your day to have dinner in a larger city.. the local villages dont have much to choose from.
