Clean, comfortable place to spend the night

Good value in a very clean, comfortable hotel of the Choice chain, just off Hwy 99, with very easy access for travelers. (Except trying to turn left out of the parking lot, most drivers turn right when the traffic allows, then make a u-turn wherever possible, if they want to go left towards downtown Ashland.)

Great value! Clean room and the staff was very helpful. Great selections for breakfast. Our kid loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Easy access to town. To us this place felt like a solid 3 star location.

Pros: Room was very clean, pool and pool was clean
Cons: 1) Rooms on the first floor is actually below ground level so you only get a view of the soil from your window. This is really a disappointment. The lobby only has a jug with lemon water. When I asked where I can get regular water I was told they don't have any and that I have to buy bottled water for about $2. What kind of hotel has lemon water but not regular water? Note: Not everyone wants lemon water. 3)Front desk personnel was not very helpful. 4) Breakfast area is too small to accommodate all the guests. We came at 8:45am and the breakfast room was a zoo. People are bumping at each other trying to get to their table. There wasn't enough space to move around. Most people were not able to sit down as the place was too full. I don't understand why all the boiled egg is peeled and just left for people to touch - this is very unsanitary. Other people touch these eggs and not take them afterwards. I don't know how clean their hands are. Why can the hotel leave these boiled eggs unpeeled and let people peel it themselves? 4) Wake up function on the phone in the room does not work. 5) Our bed tips to the side, it feels like you are going to fall off the bed when you get near the side. 6) Toiletries they provide is so poor in quality, soap does not even bubble and the shampoo makes your hair stiff. So far this is all I can remember but the stay wasn't a pleasant one. I thought I'd try this hotel instead at Best Western where we usually stay at but this hotel is not up to par. Much worse than I expected. Prices are not much different between the two. At Best Western, they give you 2 bars of granola and 2 bottled water upon check-in. It is sad that I can't even get a glass of regular water in this place. And oh, I did find water in the juice dispenser in the morning. I don't know if these dispensers don't work at night, if they do then its sad that the front desk people don't even know about it and instead told me to buy a $2 bottled water from the vending machine - do they get a commission advertising the vending machine?

be aware of odd floor layout!

The room was nice and clean. However, be aware of the strange floor layout. The check-in desk is ground level, which is actually the second floor. The first floor is only accessible by stairs down from the lobby area. The second floor is ground level. The third and fourth floors are accessible by elevator. If you don't want to lug your suitcases up and down stairs, you need to request the second, third, or fourth floor!

I requested an upper floor when making the reservation, and was given the first floor on check-in. The staff worked hard to get the room changed for me so I wouldn't have to haul heavy suitcases up and down the stairs. I appreciated that!

Great rooms and amenities

I will stay here from now on, so nice for the price. We got a bit of a discount with Priceline. We had stayed in another hotel on the way up for the same price and there is no comparison. Beautiful rooms, lots of outlets so you don't have to unplug the lamp or clock to plug your phone in, desk, comfy furniture, nice toiletries, fridge, freezer, microwave, flat screen , decent breakfast and 24 hr indoor pool and hot tub.

Wish I could stay longer I will seek out more of this brand of hotels in the future.
