What People are saying

Super

kathleend301on 08/08/2017 05:36

Located right of I-40. Convenient location, when they say pet friendly they mean it. Excellent room spacious complete with couch. Delightful breakfast room, great variety of things to eat. When we travel with our dog it's great to have such a nice place to stay

I-40 oasis

Predictable quality, easy access from I-40, perfect stop for those going West or East. There is a Denny's and Subway short walking distance away. Big fuel stop there as well. Some panhandlers in the area is the only thing that was a turn-off.

Parking a Problem, Sullen Front Desk Person and More...

rflaherty2017on 06/08/2017 17:46

The Font Desk at the Best Western in Kingman, AZ was nice to call the Front Desk for La Quinta in Gallup to make a reservation (8-5-17) and we were reassured that parking for a Ford F-150 pulling a boat on a trailer was, "No Problem." Well, it turns out there is NO pull through parking. There is only single parking spaces next to the curb. So, what happens is people with a trailer have to take up 8 or 9 spaces-parking across other spaces.
Going inside to check in I encountered Robin at the front desk who seemed a bit sullen as she never maked eye contact or offered a "Welcome to La Quinta". She looked down at the computer teminal and just asked, "Name?", as she typed it into the computer. She glanced at my DL then laid down a Non-Smoking & Pet Agreement and highlighted 5 places where I was to print and sign my name. After I complied and slid the form back to her, she pushed two credit card looking plastic cards with advertisements for Smoky's BBQ. I looked puzzled and she replied they are the room keys. Only on the back, in the corner, in tiny print does it say la Quinta. Her whole vibe was "we are done; why are you still here." I mentioned the problem with the parking. She vaguely waved her hand over her shoulder and told me to try that side of the building as she stared across the lobby. I asked about the where the rooms were located within the building. She again waived in the same direction while looking across the lobby intently at nothing. It was 11:45 PM and we were alone at the front desk and yet, she was preoccupied with something across the lobby. I looked and there was nothing there.
Access to everyone's room is through a door at the end of the end of the building - then you have to get all your luggage down a long corridor to the room.
The parking is so limited, I put the truck and trailer in a Denny's parking lot that is next door to the motel. Later, when I went back to get something out of the truck, I found two guys in a beat up old truck parked next to my truck and trailer - even though I had parked far away from everyone else. I drove the truck to another location off the motel premises.
Okay, I don't want to come off as whiner or complainer - perhaps your experience will be different.

My favorite laWQuinta

This my favorite laQuinta of all I have stayed at. Th facility itself was inviting both outside and inside. I especially love the fenced in doggie area where I take the leash off my doggie and let him run (if other doggies are friendly with him). The area is very relaxing. The breakfast was good with a good selection of items.

Better than most in Gallup, and pet-friendly

Arrived very late, but had a reservation through the La Quinta system (which is itself not the best). The hotel was clean, and they gave us a room near the end of the east wing on the first floor, convenient for taking our dogs outside to the pet run area. Breakfast was good with fresh biscuits and gravy. Much better than the Farmington location.
