Thoroughly Average
VeryAncientManon 17/08/2017 16:05Stayed here for 2 nights while moving someone into nearby Yale grad school. Hotel is an older property that has received some modest renovations but also is showing its age. Was nothing particularly wrong - check in was efficient, room was clean, bed was comfortable enough, housekeeping was fine, there was plenty of hot water and there was little noise so we slept reasonably well. Sofa bed in the room had seen better days - was heavily stained and tired. Room was pretty dark.
The included breakfast was very weak. The first day there were some apples out - the only fruit offered - and the second day there was no fruit whatsoever. Only hardboiled eggs were offered. Very limited selection of cereal. At least the wafflemakers were working.
On balance I'd stay here again if the price was right and I wanted to be close to Yale again. But it would continue to need to under price chains like Hampton Inn, as this is probably one notch down from a Hampton.
The Final Drop Off
N2960PHcynthiamon 17/08/2017 11:59As a Mom dropping my daughter off for grad school, I was thankful to spend three days with LaQuinta Inn & Suites. It is pet-friendly and has a great staff. The hotel was reasonably priced and clean. They were able to accommodate all of us. I would recommend this hotel to those traveling with or without pets in New Haven.
Unpleasant stay
856tuanton 15/08/2017 15:49My previous stay at La Quinta in July 2017 was very good. However, my August 2017 stay was less than satisfied. We arrived late and felt very tired to ask for a different room. The faucet on the sink was about to break. We have to push hard to shut the water. On the second night, my daughter got cut from the lever (behind the shower knob) to switch from hot to cold water. The lever was broken and the tip and it became quite sharp. I also alerted the front desk about these two issues for the room.
Rooms & smell
MC0220on 12/08/2017 23:33The room smell was so strong idk what it was. The bathroom wasn't well cleaned the towels had hair & so did the shower. Was very had to sleep idk what floor the noise but very loud. The breakfast area poor the food none and there wasn't no coffee at 1030am
New Heaven Trip from Toronto
mohammadsE4557LTon 11/08/2017 20:38Good average hotel in this price range including breakfast, Free Wifi, outdoor pool and corporate pricing. Its better if hotel provide small fridge in the room that will be great for the family, specially for small kids.
