Before I begin let me just say the front desk staff were great, very friendly people. I would also like to point out it is very convenient to the college. The hotel itself is a bit run down. I'm not certain but it seems as if the reason why our room door did not close securely is it may have been busted open at some point, certainly looked like old pry marks near the lock. While speaking about the lock the first set of two room keys we were provided would not open the door so time to carry luggage back to the front desk this time a maintenance guy came back with us (I am guessing they thought we didn't know how to use the card key?) and what do you know 3rd key now not working even with supervision but the fourth was a charm.
I would like to believe a pet friendly hotel would have the courtesy of notifying guests when making reservations that it is a dog show weekend and they are booked with numerous entrants, just a heads up would have been appreciated. We have dogs so I'm not opposed to pet friendly places like this but when there are accidents in hallways, droplets of urine all over the lobby and howling all night from several rooms I think it is reasonable to be given a warning ahead of time. Then again if you are going to cater to this crowd perhaps carpets in the hallway may not be the most sanitary choice as was mentioned by the lady complaining at the front desk about the surprise on the 2nd floor she had to go around.
There is no reason to ever stay in this hotel again. I'm sure they were doing all they could but it was just a gross experience that weekend.

Salisbury in not a particularly large city but this hotel is located right about city center. Easy access to everywhere and within walking distance of a lot of things, The room was big and clean. My only gripes were that the WIFI seemed extremely slow. Fortunately I was not there on business but had I been that cold have been challenging. Also when taking my bags to my car on Sunday morning I was confronted by 2 separate panhandlers working the parking lot. This is a first for me and evidently is tolerated as I did notice at least one other and during my 2 day stay seemed to notice a lot of people that weren't guests around the parking lot areas, some of it might be due to location but still not something you want to see.
The rooms are heated in cooled with though the wall units and the fan is pretty noisy but it does eliminate hearing any outside traffic noises.

Third year staying at this hotel in October for Seagull Century. I really like how the hotel has been very friendly towards those of us who are participating in the event. Rooms are clean, lobby area very clean, nice, comfortable. The only reason why this review is not a 5 is because of a strong musty smell in the room, the same thing happened last year as well. I went down to the front desk to report the problem and they were very helpful and prompt . They had someone come up and sprayed the room, it definitely helped. Just odd that it was two years in a row with the same issue. The other couple we were traveling with did not have any issue. I would definitely stay here again as everyone is helpful and responsive to needs. Bed is comfortable, rooms are nice.

Good place to stay while visiting our son at SU. Room was clean, staff friendly, parking easy, pets free, and central Salisbury location. We will stay here again on future visits. Easy walk to downtown Salisbury.

Every thing was nice and clean and close to everything. All if the staff was helpful and courteous. With the Golden Retriever national there was so much to keep up with and they did a great job! I love La Quinta and this was no exception! Thank you!
